The Siege - Turn 03

Post by Dienekes22 » Sun Jun 19, 2016 10:53 pm

Image

The ballista fires, but the shot unsuccessfully hits the nearby tree.

Image

The tree is a ruin.

Image

The foot soldiers in the tower charge out with fury.

Image

One of the soldiers doesn't survive his jump. The rest land safely.

Image

Some of the men are able to reach the defensive wall.

Image

All result in stalemates, but Isenbardus slays his foe on a counter.

Image

The engineer pours the ale into a pot and tosses some nearby food in with it.

Image

Owayne jumps back onto his war cow, destabilizing the siege tower.

Image

The King attempts a feat and has his cow head butt the ailing siege tower.

Image

The feat fails and the tower falls softly on a crossbowman. The man is killed by the softly falling weight.

Image

The Knight charges but just can't reach Isenbardus on account of his heavily armoured horse.

Image

The rest of the men move up as they are able.

Image

A Lion foot soldier dons the armour from a long dead skeleton.

Image

Persivell sucks more life forces and readies himself to use more supernatural power.

Image

The Lions roar back at their attackers.

Image

One Lion dies to a successful counterattack.

Image

On the other side of the line, a Crown is slain. Another Lion drops his spear on a crit-fail, but the opposing crown cannot finish the man.

Image

The ballista on the tower takes a life. The trebuchet misfired but didn't hit anything interesting so it is not pictured.

Image

A horseman trods onto the field.

Image

The rest of his party appear out of the mist behind him. The bearded elves have arrived. What is their intent? Only time will tell!

So far I have not seen any siege battle where the besieged lost. And I played quite a few myself (5 or so) because I like the idea.

It is hard to balance a unsymetric scenario like this. People continue to underestimate the value of minifigs with ranged weapons placed on a secured elevation. Last time I played, the attackers had an army worth double the CP, and still lost.

There you are. But then again there were no troops on top of the walls in my battle.
