The Siege of the Dunlan Fortress - Turn 1

Post by Joshua » Wed Aug 04, 2021 1:10 pm

Sorry for the wait, had some family related thing that took priority.

Turn order favored the defenders this time around.

Lillian Windstrider - Bragallot

Image
Lillian runs over towards the yellow building to get a better vantage point.

Image
She then starts climbing.

Image
After realizing there is no way that an arrow could hinder a giant metal wheel, she sees a better target.

Image
She fires an arrow at the exposed shoulder of the troll, and actually knocks off a hitpoint! 2 remain.

Black Knights - Degener@te (Sorry, I NPC'ed these guys and took pictures right before you sent orders. Your orders will be carried out in Turn 2, however.)

Image
This archer gets himself a kill...

Image
And so does this crossbowman. The other two didn't do enough damage.

Image
The Garrison Commander walks over to this chest and grabs the crossbow.

Image
He then fires at the Uruh-Hai hero, and knocks off a HP! 1 remains. (all heroes have 2HP)

All other Black Knight soldiers have a response action.

Uruk-Hai - Scribonius

Image
"All right, which one of you brought the bomb?" He snarls.

Image
"Bomb? What bomb?" "You were supposed to bring one of the bombs that we used to blow up Helms Deep with, you fool!"

Image
The orcs with the ladder move up toward the Fortress walls.

Image
And use their action to position it straight up in the air.

Image
Everyone else moves up, and the hero shoots at one of the halberdiers, but his thick armor protects him.

Image
This archer tries shooting at Lillian, but misses.

Bull Knights - my brother

Image
The catapult fires...

Image
And only hits a decorative shield. Pathetic.

Image
These guys move up.

Image
And use their action to set up the ladder.

Image
Cedric moves up as well.

Undead - Falk

Image
The wounded troll pushes the siege tower a little closer to the Fortress.

Image
The archers on top fire, and one scores a hit! First Blood!

Image
These guys march forward.

Image
As does the Undead hero, a necromancer, and the Skeletal Angel.

Image
The Possessed Knight and some more skeletons move over towards the ladder.

Image
The necromancer on the East side attempts to revive the skeleton that was shot.

Image
And is successful!

Image
They then march up to the walls of the Fortress.

Image
And the third ladder is put into position.

Image
Almost forgot about this machine! It fires...

Image
And hits the rampart, which disrupts the crossbowman.

Without counting the troll, you are outnumbered exactly 2 to 1. There are 44 of them to only 22 of you. Thankfully that will even out a little on Turn 5, because the Black Knights will receive reinforcements.
