The skirmishers fire a volley and reposition, but this time don't kill anyone.

"It is time. Signal the cavalry!"

A crossbowman lights a bolt on fire (yes that's how you do that).

He then fires it high into the air, the bolt making a red streak across the sky.

This signals the Black Knight cavalry to come out of hiding. Knowing they wouldn't do much good in a confined space, Sir Godwin had hidden them in the forests to the south prior to the battle. (I forgot where I saw those types of lances first but props to whoever I got the idea from, it really looks a hundred times better.)

The cavalry, consisting of 4 elite knights (5 armour and 1d8 skill) and 2 regular ones, launch a devastating charge, killing three of the artillery crewmen. Sir Jason is also charged in the flank by two riders...

His horse is killed, but he survives thanks to his armour, shield and the guys he attached to his horse for extra protection earlier. He does get thrown down and disrupted.

This dude was only knocked back.

One of the charging horses gets taken out by the ballista. "This is fine," the rider says. (She is disrupted too). The crossbowmen fired on a Draklon raider but didn't do enough damage, the other fired at the water demons but they're very difficult to hit with the barricade in front of them.

Another shot of the glorious cavalry charge, just because.
Draklon Raiders - lordintype (I moved the imperial's turn back since I figured he might want to adjust his orders in the light of the cavalry being summoned this turn)

The hero is the first out the boat. She runs towards the horse.

"YEET!"

*Flomp*
"Barricade destroyed! Woohoo!"
"OMG Hax you're not even a Strength hero!"
"Whateva! I rolled a 6, I do what I want!"

The other raiders, with no horses close by, leave the boat to join their hero. The crossbowman takes a pot shot at one of the spearmen by the bridge but misses wildly.
Water Demons - NPC

The water demons keep assaulting the barricade, but do rather poorly this turn, destroying only one or two pieces.
The Empire - ninja-bait

The Empire advances and the soldiers get close enough to fight. Despite the black knights' response actions, two of them go down without dealing casualties in return.

Sir Jason, moving at half speed, can't reach the horses he wanted to throw, so starts folding his banner like a paper plane instead with the intention to throw it. However it's a roll of three versus three so he gives up on the idea.

The artillery gets pushed forward, and a group of halberdiers, well-equipped to deal with cavalry, files in behind them, ready to protect them.
