The Pursuit of Treasure - Turn 6 + 7

Post by Joshua » Mon May 23, 2022 11:05 pm

It's getting down to the wire!

Undead Pirates - Mr. President

Image
This skeleton takes aim at the guard pirate.

Image
And he goes down!

Image
These two both fire at the retreating pirates, but no dice.

Image
The Undead Captain follows after Captain Scurlock and shoots him in the back. -1HP

Image
Then he grabs the corpse of a dead skeleton...

Image
And chucks him into the pirates, disrupting one.

Pirates - Scratch

Image

Captain Scurlock: "Avast, Redcoats! He be the remains of the Dread Pirate Roberts!"

Redcoat Hero: "Is that so? After him, lads! He deserves the gallows!"

Scurlock successfully forces the Redcoats to only be able to target skeletons for this turn.

Image
Scurlock then returns the favor and shoots his Undead counterpart in the back. -1HP

Image
He then proceeds to climb into the ruins and get behind cover.

Image
The formerly disrupted pirate gets up and fires, but misses.

Image
The wench goes over to the cannon...

Image
And after critically succeeding on a WISG (What I Say Goes) roll, she then hefts it around so it is pointing at the Bluecoats. :byzero:

Image
She lights it with her gun and...

Image
BOOOOOOM!!

Image

Image

Image

Image
Ouch. The two intact soldiers closest to the blast are only disrupted.

Image
Hey, at least he went out with a smile!

Redcoats - Cracjaw

Image
The hero rides forward and fires on the Dread Pirate Roberts.

Image
And due to a disparity of 1 point, the Dread Pirate Roberts fails his armor roll and is slain, again.

Image
Meanwhile, redcoats advance and fire on the remaining skellies.

Image
Both go down.

Image
This sailor climbs into the castle and fires on the last skeleton!

Image
And just like that, the Undead Pirates are Eliminated!

Image
And finally, all the redcoats advance.

Bluecoats - Bragallot

Image
The two disrupted soldiers pick themselves up.

Image
And then everyone advances, with the hero killing the musket-wielding pirate after both soldiers failed to.

Faction Stats:

Pirates:
Hero HP: 1/3
KIA: 8
Kills: 14

Bluecoats:
Hero HP: 1/3
KIA: 5
Kills: 2

Redcoats:
Hero HP: 1/3
KIA: 4
Kills: 8 + The Dread Pirate Roberts

Undead Pirates: ELIMINATED
Hero HP: 0/3 DEAD
KIA: 9
Kills: 5 + a castle tower

So, since the pirates were extremely close to completing their objective and one of the other teams would need to go first in order to stop them, I rolled a d20 to determine the next turn order and this is what I rolled:

Pirates: 12
Redcoats: 9
Bluecoats: 5

The Final Turn!

Pirates - Scratch

Image
The three remaining pirates climb down to their boats.

Image
And after setting fire to one,

Image
They set sail with both chests!

Image
Victory!

Image

Redcoat Hero: "Damn! They got away!"

Bluecoat Hero: "We'll get you eventually, Scurlock! Mark my words!"

The Survivors:

Final Overwatch:

Thank you all for playing! I hope this was as fun for you as it was for me!

First of (at least) several, I'm guessing!

Actually, I'm afraid not. Maybe in the not-too-soon future, but my next battle is going to be a bit more sci-fi, then I'll probably continue the medieval storyline.

A good battle as always my friends. I assume my dear did not work? Or perhaps it was too mindbending to deal with a time traveling law suit? Anyways, I’m glad I at least survived. Thank you for hosting Joshua, i look forward to the next battle!!
Yeah, you know who I am

Correct, it didn't work. And since nothing changed game-wise, I forgot about it while posting the turn. Sorry!

I like how the Redcoats conveniently forgot that I was shooting at them. I wanted to run to the back of the pirate base from the start, but I was disoriented from the start, lmao. That explosion was beautiful, even though it was my men on the receiving end.

I thought about having them continue to fight after the pirates escaped, but eh, it wasn't necessary.

Thanks! I model mine after the great master of explosions, Warhead.
