we need to hustle, we're still a ways away from the lab and it looks like there is a scuffle brewing

the synthete move up and take a defensive position, readying response actions.

THE IRIORIANS

The Iriorians splint into two groups, the administrator takes the main batch of infantry towards the lab entrance,
ready for an engagement with the guards.


while the Mech, and some support move to intercept the synthete forces


The Mage channels his arcane magiks into the mech.


Overloaded with power the mech fires with both weapons


while one shot hits a tree, the other connects with its target. and the dude with the really
cool rotary cannon goes down.


their machine minds unfazed by the immediate death of a colleague, the synth forces return fire


while the size of the mech lets all the shots connect easily, the damage received is moderate.
(1 point of size damage taken, 1 remaining. Loss of one weapon system)

THE THINKERS


a salvenger bot walks out of the guard house,
I detected explosions, what is going on


He is immediately killed.

mecha taroth sees this carnage transpire and tries to take a pot shot at the administrator from the house


the Iriorian troops are quick to give their lives for there commander though. and one redshirts the hit.


another bot busts out the window to get a shot at the attackers


he misses at point blank range


Mecha Fuckin Santa and The Calculi bots descend on the elevator to reinforce the guards at the bottom

The rest of the robots in the lab take up key defensive positions.


Dr Jazari, we need to figure out something to help the defenders. this is not a combat facility
we will quickly get overwhelmed without reinforcements.
maybe we can slow them down?
lets try channeling the green cores energy into the area and see what happens.

he hurls in towards the iriorians


and it impales one of them when it lands.

they find the Docket, a Supernatural D4,


The studlanders pivot and fire at the ronin, killing one


and they return the favor


THE SYNTHETE


They are fire again on the large mech,


however it's being shielded by the Mage now,


The melee troops move up


Red team moves out of the building,


The march out around the rock,


santa is close behind,


once into the alleyway he cleaves one of the ronin in half.


he takes up a defensive position behind the ronin.


taroth takes another pot shot at the iriorians but misses.


Gold team takes the elevator down into the guard house


Green team is now guarding the entrance


entropy struggles to get his gun through the window


Dr. Jazari and his assistants begin working on another thinker


and whooosh it comes to life.

the mech takes another shot, but misses and hits the building


the mechs other arm comes to rest in some ruins,


the mage deploys his other SN dice to transform into into a diemon, (this will arrest the use of the SN dice until the spider cannon dies or the dice is otherwise recalled)


the other three troops move up and fortify their position behind the mech


with the left flank secure the, the Iriorians focus fire on Ristus,


however an absolutely insane redshirt roll brings the last ronin with an action all the way from downtown to soak the damage


a grateful ristus is showered in blood as he survives the turn


oh yeah i forgot about those studlander fucks


the administrator hoists up the body of the man that was killed by the flying tree


and sends it hurtling back towards the studlanders


return to sender!


the body comes crashing down breaking apart and spraying blood everywhere


Officer voidstrike is so horrified by this she stumbles backwards and falls, disrupting herself.
Dauhyuka, is unfazed however. he's seen what horrors the people of this world are capable of.

Hey dude, after last turn i really think we should be focusing on the robots, those blue guys aren't gunning for us yet

Dauhyuka takes to the skies,


using the docket he channels some fire magik


he creates a field hazard, that'll deal fire damage to anyone who walks through.

with their flank protected, the stulanders move up and fire,


they score two kills on the ronin,


including the explosives guy

the melee synths try to get to the administrator but the terrain is too rough to get all the through


Artificer draws up s shard of the core,


he leaps towards the diemon spider.


he gets tripped up on the ruins however,


and falls into a crack, getting disolved.


the rest of the synth all combine fire and kill the spider before it can act

DR. JAZARI

with the flank cut off, Paragon looks for other options.


he moves through the center of the rocks, while the rest of his squad climbs up for a better shot.


The spartan bot fires but it kicks too hard and he shoots over his target.


Paragon shoots one of the studlanders.





Node:Zero hops off the elevator


she uses the forward momentum to slash down on one of the ronin,


Mecha Somber also hops off, guns blazing


its a wiff though, and he misses all his shots, and then face plants into the rubble


Taroth guns down an iriorian


with the elevator clear green team heads down to the battlefield.


Atrophy blasts the wall,


he rolls so high the wall just explodes, sending shrapnel down to the battlefield

jazari begins fashioning explosives out of the brains (this was successful, but i didn't make a build for it. i'll make one next turn!)


one of the scientists disables the elevator.

The admin jumps up towards the mech,


she transforms her gun into a hammer,


ristus parrys and they engage in a heroic duel.


he strikes back, she parrys down towards the mech,


you are outmatched, exile.


she lands a massive swing, launching him off the mech,


transforming her mace back into a gun, she blasts him mid-air while he's defenceless

Administrator wins. Flawless victory.


the iriorians begin mopping up the remaining synthetes




over by the mage, one dude shoots the wall while the others retaliate


the synth with the knockoff helmet goes down.

The other studlanders rush into the pink void, only to be launched out and up towards the lab.

Dr. Jazari: how in the hell did you get in here?!?! we disabled the elevator.

THE SYNTHETE


one of the surviving troopers grabs artificer's crystal sniper,


he tries to snipe the administrator off the top of the mech


but the gun is too unwieldly for him to operate well, and the shot misses by a mile


the last melee synth desperately tries to deal some component damage to the mech, but its futile
"how are we rolling so bad, this is insane" he mutters to himself.


realizing that they are cooked, the synthete survivors book it off the map, leaving the last melee guy to fend for himself.

DR. JAZARI


quick, the lab has been breached, we need to get a defense field up to prevent more intruders


ZAAAAPprrrPPPPPP the power flickers as the labs systems start failing
that explosion did more damage than we thought.


we can deal with these intruders ourselves, time to test out these new brain bombs.


BOOM


two of the studlanders bail out of the way, as does Jazari, but on of them is blasted back out the door and into tiny pieces.


we don't need no god damn forcefield. I'LL DO IT MYSELF


outside, all remaining armed bots combine fire on the studlanders.


the trooper dies and Dauhyuka is mortally wounded, Darkstar is somehow unscathed


please don't let me die on this rock man


response fire from her finally dispatches mecha taroth.


sombernator uses the commotion to get out of his duress and fire on the iriorians,


Target eliminated.


Atrophy fires out of his new window.


he hits the Admin but deals no substantial damage to her.


THE IRIORIANS


no longer having to worry about the split front, the Iriorians moves to take the guardhouse.


the Admin trades some damage back towards atrophy


he does not survive the exchange.


the mech stomps the life out of the last synthete

THE SYNTHETE HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED


the dudes that are in range open fire along with the mech.


the last silver squad member goes down along with the winged brain bot.


the mage uses one of his SN dice to animate the core shard artificer made last turn.


he teaches it spinjitzu and sends it hurtling towards the platform, slicing the yellow bot apart.


it also hits prototype bot but it doesn't deal enough damage to him and the shards fades away.


The mage kackles as he powers up his other die,


he suppresses Somber, completing his capture (for now)

he smashes a brain bot, with a rock, creating a barrier between Voidstrike and the rest of the bots

Dauhyuka grabs santa's swivelcannon,


He blasts the other brain bot.


satisfied with the opening he gave voidstrike and somber to escape, he collapses, and bleeds out
on the field.


we're on our own up here, we better make it count.


the trooper rushes over to the bin of brainbombs


and knocks it over.


B O O OO OOO M


the explosion trashes the lab, and sends the scientists flying.


It also breaks out Gromilda, Mogn, and Ferrus. who have been trapped in the lab since their capture at Doombox years ago.


Gromilda Immediately arms herself with a Keyboard from the destroyed PC


quite the keyboard warrior, she impales one of the disrupted scientists with it. killing him instantly.


YOU SICK FUCK mogn tackles Dr. Nilah YOU EXPEREMENTED ON US FOR AN ETERNITY, I'M GOING TO RIP YOU APART


The other studlander, Tries to execute Dr Jazari while he's on the ground


One of the other scientists redshirts the hit however.

animals. i will destroy you.


Jazari slices up the studlander,


he transforms his arm to cannon mode.


And blasts a Lazor straight through Ferrus. killing him instantly


the other survivor tackles Mogn off of Dr. Nilah


Quick Nilah, get to Atrophy.


She rushes through the air lock


She begins operating on Atrophy


She gets him back together but is unable to revive him yet.


outside, all surviving ranged bots form up,


Bot 3 Channels nanites into the corpse of Dauhyuka

the remaining thinkers are being detained now. it seems the Al-gorithim reduced them to their base processes. with it gone, they did not resist.


and we have recovered nervs body.


now all we have to do is figure out what this was.

Wow. Just... Wow.

Fun: 16 I didn't necessarily understand everything going on, but the whole thing felt like a cinematic experience, not a Brikwar.

Violence: 10 You have to ask why???

Photography: 10 Even shots with non-Lego look awesome because of the lighting effects, which were STUPENDOUS. Seriously, this was pretty freaking awesome.

Writing: 8 Some minor issues here, but that is mostly because I was having issues following some of the plot. Character development was insane, even without context, and everything seemed to flow nicely.

Story: 8 The only reason this wasn't a 10 was how confusing this was at times - I think one fewer factions in the fight would have cleared that up. I was having a few issues remembering who was doing what and had to keep referring to the intro.

You did a good job including the whole Interdimensional Highway concept, and really leaned into the idea of this being new tech.

Nothing like a good base defense mission, with a few wild cards thrown into the mix. The battlefield setup was definitely unique, good use of lighting to set a mood.

Gory beheadings, aggressive robot disassembling, blood mists erupting from fleshy cavities, building destruction, magickal exploshuns, this battle had it all.

I didn't have a clear idea exactly what was going on. More backstory/exposition needed for characters and factions. You did work in the Interdimensional Highway theme though.
