I should probably be up front to since I'm melee.

I’ll join near the front too since I have a melee weapon attached to my rifle. On standby for bosses ordersFalk wrote:I should probably be up front to since I'm melee.

Re: The Prisoner [SIGN-UPS CLOSED]
Magda kicks that guard through the door of the first prison, opening the door and if not killing him, at least leaving him disrupted and helpless against the wrath of the prisoners.
Then rush upon the mechanic or whatever the guy behind him is and slash him up.
If the feat fails, use my regular attack on the soldier instead.
I'll try to stay between my team and enemies to tank damage, which I'll try to parry with my sword.
If this all works out, we might wanna clear our corners before trying to reach the 2nd prison so we don't get caught in a crossfire.

Re: The Prisoner [SIGN-UPS CLOSED]
Etanol will stick to the rear in case someone gets hurt. He's gonna save his action to coup de grace those who would survive my teammates' attacks. I may also burninate a corner or two so that enemies will have trouble trying to surround us and staying in cover at the same time. How does that sound?

Re: The Prisoner [SIGN-UPS CLOSED]
I should have posted more overview shot of the battlefield for the sake of orientation:

The dudes with head scarves are Prison Guards equipped with shock staffs and are required to free the prisoners they oversee. Stats are in the OP
btw, I'd be glad if you guys could also mark definite orders accordingly so I can look them up much faster.

Alright I'll put my definite orders in red.
Re: The Prisoner [SIGN-UPS CLOSED]
So you're saying we have to kill the prison guard dudes before we can open the cells?

Re: The Prisoner [SIGN-UPS CLOSED]
yup, though it differs from guard to guard. Some have keys to open certain cells and others are simply supervising them. Further details will be revealed during gameplay.Falk wrote:So you're saying we have to kill the prison guard dudes before we can open the cells?

What's to stop them from just cutting through the wall with their chainsaws?Duerer wrote:yup, though it differs from guard to guard. Re: The Prisoner [SIGN-UPS CLOSED]
Picking up keys and opening doors neither counts as an action nor a big enough minor activity to impair movement, thus still leaving you with an action for killing more figs.
Plus I don't have enough bricks to properly depict damage on the wall/panel elements anyway.

Re: The Prisoner [SIGN-UP]
I'm good with this plan. Is there an overwatch rule? Given an option, I would prefer to go proper sniper and do 'response fire.' Wait until a proper target appears, THEN shoot. We want to keep the enemy pinned and scattered, if possible.Bragallot wrote:This makes me want to do another Commandos forum battle. We're nearly complete. Ok team, listen up.
I suggest I take point, at least until I get wounded, since I'm a hero who can parry shots and is also less likely to take damage from shots that do get through. If people get hurt we can move them to the centre of the formation and have our Medik patch them up, but we stay together as much as possible.
We'll move from cell to cell, trying to free as many prisoners as possible so they can act as expendable meat shields err- because we care so deeply for their freedom, hopefully one of them will know where the general is.
If it's ok with y'all I'll start by moving up and kicking that first soldier straight through the cell door behind him to free the first batch of prisoners. If he survives, hopefully the prisoners will tear him up. Then I'll run through the guy behind him with my sword (who I assume is an enemy too).
Just throwing ideas around. Thoughts?
Re: The Prisoner [SIGN-UPS CLOSED]
I will follow Brag and unlock the door, killing any guards that are close.
I'm assuming the guards all know we're here?

Yeah, it's part of the core rules. See Chapter 4.3.Scribonius wrote:I'm good with this plan. Is there an overwatch rule? Given an option, I would prefer to go proper sniper and do 'response fire.' The will slowly get what's going on but given how quick the team arrived, they are always the last to get their turns played out (unless I am being forced to NPC some commandos as well).Falk wrote:I'm assuming the guards all know we're here?
Some orders from Scribonius, RedRover and motorhead fan would be nice. Marking them with some sort of colour also helps a lot.

Magda (Bragallot):

Magda kicks the Lietuvan soldier towards one of the guards nearby with the latter one dropping a rectangular object with a greenish hue. While the guard is merely disrupted, the soldier didn't survive that ferocious kick. (FEAT SUCCESSFUL)

Upon further inspection, this object seems to be some sort of keycard which might be of use later on. But which door is it supposed to unlock?

Looks like the answer reveals itself faster than you thought!
Prisoner: "'scuse me, ma'am... would you be kind and open that door in front of you with that keycard of yours?"
Magdalena Pierunska: "Depends on. I'm looking for a certain person to get out of this prison."

Prisoner: "That's a Polish naval uniform you're wearing there, right?"
Magdalena Pierunska: "Maybe? Tons of armies are wearing white with different accents nowadays."
Prisoner: "Now take a look at that corridor to the right."

Prisoner: "The warden came down for some very special occasion and this time it's not checking on the poor folks at the OT mineral mines."

Prisoner: "Instead, it's our resident VIP. Usually this prison is meant for resistance members only but this guy's a very big deal. If I recall correctly, he was some sort of high ranking officer of the Polish armed forces. How was he called again... Sosabowicz... no, not that one..."
Magdalena Pierunska: "Sosabowski! it's him! Where is he located?"
Prisoner: "Looks like he's inside the mining cave, just where the warden was heading."
Magdalena Pierunska: "Looks like that info just made matters much easier for us!"

Prisoner: "If you don't mind, would you also mind to release the rest of my comrades? The cells in front of the lifts can be opened with the keycard in your hand but the cells behind require a red keycard, held by the guard nearby. Our comrades inside the cavern are being supervised by two more guards, as well."

*CLICK*
Magdalena Pierunska: "Hmpf, fine. I'll let you loose. If you don't want to die out here trying to mug the guards with your makeshift shanks, I'd suggest you grab the weapons of the ones who already bit the dust, instead."

Two prisoners (played by ninja_bait) have been activated and are helping the rescue squad on their mission to save Sosabowski!
Dr. Etanol (Texhnophille):

Dr. Etanol: "Got your back, boss!"
Dr. Etanol exits the elevator, stays behind Magda and saves his action for response (thus the base is marked with an eye tile).
Laska (Falk):

Laska also exists the elevator and confronts the disrupted prison guard on the ground.
Laska: "Aw man, I didn't want to slice up a prone opponent on the ground! Oh well..."

Doing her job, she shreds said guard into tiny fleshy bits.
Turn is not fully done yet, as I still expect orders from Scribonius, RedRover and motorhead. Roughly 6 hrs left until the 48 hr limit elapsed.

Re: The Prisoner [TURN 1 IN PROGRESS, AWAITING ORDERS]
Do I get an actual turn this round? If so:
The prisoners pick up the guards' weapons and take the card key from Magda to go free the other cell. They do any useful shooting they can.
