Head toward the tower, but first swap out my sword for the the CC specialist had (put my old one in the backpack, you never know when you might need another sword), and take the harpoon gun too. If anyone goes after me, parry and riposte.
Also, toss the shield lying near the spear gun and sword over to the old guy, and tell him to follow me. "I stopped that great big monster, I think that proves I'm a worth leader or something. Come on, to glory and adventure!"

In that case, Guy should reveal his plot to blow up the gate with kegs of gunpowder that he has hidden next to the gate, using his benny to create a massive explosion. He and the natives should try and attack the guards on the walls.

That's not how pennies work here, you use them to boost your stats.

That's not how pennies work here, you use them to boost your stats.
The Benny should be used to increase Guy's damage then.

I'm split between my desire to steal everything that is't bolted down (or at least search that chest over by the castle) and my desire to get the gate open and move onto the next part of the RPG. decisions, decisions......

I think I'll go with the looting. Head toward the castle, doing my usual "stay on guard, parry and riposte if attacked" thing. Try to stay out of the machine gunner's range (and if takes a potshot at me anyway, try to bail out of the way), and if I get close enough, grab the armor off that dead skeleton (assume it's going to get up and try to kill me until prove otherwise). If it won't cost me my response action, chop the armored skellies head off just to be sure.
