Welcome to Ambushed in the Foothills. This is the first battle in what will hopefully be a campaign. Since this is my first forum battle, I decided to keep things fairly simple.


Having made their way through the mountain passes, the Roman I Legion continues its march down through the foothills and into the lowlands.


They are lead by General Aemilius Paulus. "Look sharp men. We are within 5 leagues of Lingoni territory. Keep a sharp lookout."


Then, from the hills came the clamor of war-cries as a Lingoni warband began charging down the slope.


Their hero is the guy with axes and the beard.


At the same time, a Drakhirri scouting party appears on the trail ahead.


They are lead by the veteran General Zermanion

Romans: reserved for Vami IV
Lingoni: Battlegrinder
Drakhirri: lawmaster

A few notes on stats. The Roman standard gives a small damage bonus to nearby troops and the cornu is a heroic object that can give inspiration feats. The pilum can be thrown automatically before engaging in close combat with gladius as long as the thrower still has an action. After they are thrown they are useless as the soft lead heads become blunted.

I haven't heard from Vami yet, but he has been fairly active lately so I'll give him another day or so. The rest of you can send your orders.

If he does not want to i'd play the Romans.

Every time I see the word Lingoni, I can't help but read it as Linguine.

Well, I still haven't heard from Vami, so you can go ahead and take the Romans Apollyon. I'll give him a spot in my next battle.
