Imperial City, War Room

King Mondaine, Liana Crowclaw and Majisto the Blue are assessing the situation and plan their next move against the Falx:



Mondaine: 'Reports have shown that the Falx have dismantled their initial portal, to reroute and reinforce their second larger fortress. The place also doubles as a staging ground for their armies. They also seem to have formed an alliance with the undead.'
Liana: 'It seems unreasonable of them to put all their eggs in one basket."
Majisto: 'Such is the decadence of the Falx I'm afraid. They seem confident that thelast battle left us in disarray.'
Mondaine: 'What they do not know however, is that I have already contacted Thane Mithrilfist and Enchantress Moonsong; with their aid, as battered and weary we may be, we should be able to match them evenly!'



Majisto: 'Do not forget your grace, that even though our heroes are still recovering, we have a slight edge of two of the four Lords under are service! But here they come, and by the looks of it, they brought a guest!'
Pizzaro&Isabella: 'Greetings sire!'
Mondaine: 'Greetings! And who would be your prisoner?'



Gurak: 'The name's Gurak. I am here to ask you, as leader of your people, to allow me to fight by your side.'
Mondaine: 'And why would an ork ever consider allying with its mortal enemy? As far as I know the orks are in league with the Falx.'



Gurak: 'That is not an alliance, but slavery! My people are chained, downtrodden, abused: their vision blinded. This is not what they deserve. That is why I want to fight. I want to murder Falx. For if they die, my kin may be able to roam free once more.'
Isabella: 'I can assure you, your grace, that Gurak is a formidable warrior.'



Mondaine: 'I may not be in favor of your kind, but that does sound like a terrible fate to befall on your kinsmen. I shall allow your contribution Gurak, on the condition that you move back to the lands of West, if we are to win this battle.'
Gurak: 'So shall it be, King Mondaine! You have my word of honor, which I shall demonstrate by cleaving as many wretched Falx as I must!'



Majisto: 'Pizzaro, Isabella - there is something we need to discuss about the Portal Fortress. It appears that Torquemada has been taken over by an entity that claims to be the very ebonite ore itself.'



Majisto: 'Since the entity is linked to the very ore that the fortress is made of, feeding off the energy between realms, I am afraid we might have to destroy that as well to ensure absolute victory. This however, could result in severing your only way back home. I know this is a lot to ask, but are you still willing to fight?'

The Falx Lords pause, overwhelmed by the weight of the decision.



Pizzaro: 'I'm in!'
Isabella: 'WHAT!?'



Pizzaro: 'I know Isabella, I know. Even the natives duped us! This sounds crazy, but here's the thing: the heads back home probably ate up Torque's lies. We're dead men for them anyways. But I still love the Republic! Therefore I will not stand until I see a respectable Falx donning cursed ebonite on itself, to willingly become a minion of some crazed "being"!'



Isabella is still torn on the issue... to never see her homeland! To never parttake in conquests! To be stuck in this wretched mudball! However, deep down she realizes the truth behind Pizzaro's words: if Torquemada (or whatever that has become of him) wins, there's no stopping him unleashing the ebon plague on the Republic itself!



Isabella: 'At your service!'



Mondaine: 'Excellent! I am very grateful of your decision. You shall be deployed soon; you will meet with the dwarves and lady Valeera on the battlefield.'

UNDEAD MINE I've been wait two years for this and it's finally happened!

Only reason I'm not deleting this is to preserve the coherence of later, more meaningful posts, and let it stand as a monument to your jumping the gun like a git. You don't claim things until the thread author tells you you can. Otherwise I'd nuke this unmitigated piece of gall from orbit in a heartbeat.

Later, at Portal-Fortress: Domination:







Torquemada: 'Hah, those insects still believe they have a shred of chance against us! Now that the very dead of the land are willing to fight for me, their eradication is just a matter of time.'



Barthelomeo: 'The armies are ready, master.'
Torquemada: 'Excellent. Time to end this silly masquarade.'



Torquemada's body gets enveloped in ebonite as he is remolded into a far larger and sinister form.



The Ebon Destroyer: 'TREMBLE MORTALS, AND DESPAIR, AS THIS SHALL BE YOUR LAST DEFIANT STAND!'

Meanwhile the heroes meet up:



Valeera: 'Greetings lady Liana! You have seem to assembled quite the colorful party yet again! Our task is simple: destroy their defenses and bring down the Portal. Onward, to victory!'

I must also applaud you for the portrayal of the Falx that joined up with the Empire - that's exactly what they would do in this situation (while Falx don't mind unscrupulous tactics Bartholomeo's methods and most of all his corruption bring even greater shame than defeat would). And the use of the Warcraft 2 OST *sheds a tear*

Don't let me catch you doing this again, editing your faction request post is annoying to your fellow players and the battlemaster, and I like reading these battles so annoying the battlemaster such that he might not write the battle annoys me.
