Welcome to my first ever forum battle, The Stockade Skirmish!

First before we continue, here's some suggested reading: Encroaching Frost.




Under the supervision of Farcus son of Barbous and a handful of Frostbornian warriors, barricades were hastily built along the riverbanks where they awaited a host of ominous soldiers. Even the villagers had gathered up arms and stood alongside their better-armed militia force.





Just as Frostborne had finished their fortifications and taken up positions, the host they had been preparing for marched toward them from the opposite end of the bridge before them.





“Barbarians!” A voice yelled a rough with an outlandish tongue. “lay down your arms and let us through! You have taken up residence on Draklon-owned land!”





Farcus stepped forward and roared back, “barbarians? Such a hearty insult from a band of cowards!”





An armored figure strode from amongst the ranks of the Draklon raiders. “Negotiation is over,” he snarled, “men, overwhelm them!”





Thus begins the Stockade Skirmish.

It’s a secret, duh.


Frostborne Reinforcements

A mixture of heavy ranged and melee units lead by one hero.




Faction Objectives




Frostborne
-Hold up as long as possible until reinforcements arrive. Defend the stockade and the riches inside.

Draklon
-Break though the Frostborne defenses, slay all opposing forces, and steal any useful resources.

Norsemen
-Pillage. They generally have the same objectives as Draklon, only both of those factions are opposing forces and will fight one another for any loot.





Notes from the GM


Since this is my first forum battle, I’m terribly stoked to get going with this. As such, I would appreciate it if I receive orders within two weeks of each posted turn. If I don’t receive orders from someone after a certain amount of time that I feel has been long enough, I may end up giving your faction to someone else.

When every spot is taken, I will send out faction/hero stats to everyone involved.

Mind if I play the Frostborne Villagers? Or are the roles already taken?

Alright guys, all spots are filled. My apologies to those that missed it, but stay tuned as there may be additional spots as things get underway. For those of you signed up, I'm getting all the stats and faction background stories ready for you now. After your stats are received, I will be open to turn 1 orders.

For your orders, please label the messages like so:

Just so I know what's in my inbox.

As for Turn One, please be patient. Though I know most of the rulings and all that jazz, I'll still be experimenting on how to make this a painless and organized process as I can. As long as things go as planned, turns will be posted weekly. Thanks!
