Thoughts:
1. LDD is pretty difficult to work with, so it's pretty impressive to see how well you were able to do with it, and how fast you were able to turn out new turns. Build quality was also pretty great. I haven't seen a whole lot of micro scale stuff on this level of quality before.
2. As far as game ballance goes, I feel like the sides were fairly unbalanced in this one. (although this is possibly due to some early major losses for the TA), in that it seemed as though the NATO always had more stuff on the field.
3. More importantly though is like the way things were arranged (as this deals a lot with the kind of game play that can happen). For example, the TA was caught in between the NATO and immortal forces, so had to contend with both even though the immortal wraith was technically a third party, and then also the transport carts had a pretty short and uncontested distance to travel in order to get to their destination, so NATO got a bunch of pretty easy points for that.
I feel like for the scenario to play out as intended, a setup something like this would have worked out a little better, and resulted in more interesting gameplay:
See here; the immortals are positioned in such a way that they basically just end up destroying everything, so are a third party, the third alliance can "ambush" the transports from one of their entry points, there's terrain to hide behind and therefore more strategy involved, and lastly it's totally OK for the NATO forces to be stronger than the TA forces, because they have a longer distance to travel, and it makes sense that they would be a larger force anyway as per the given scenario.
Another add-on rule that I think could possibly make future similar games more interesting is to have different units move at different speeds. I.E. say the transports can move 2 inches a turn, but the big hulking things like the omega doom, AC and immortal wraith can only move 1 inch per turn, and the md-level tanks can only move 1.5 inches per turn or something like that. This adds on an additional level of complexity and gives the commanders more options for how they want to play and strategize.
In any case, great game! And I hope to see more similar games from you in the future!
