Locked Up (FINISHED)

Post by Apollyon » Fri Feb 19, 2016 5:52 pm

Hi there, it's been a while.

Early in G.R. 2013 Dr. Hans Braghardt returned from a Black Hole to these parts of the Brikverse

After a fierce battle he was captured by Briktopian forces in G.R. 2014

As of right now in G.R. 2016 he is still imprisoned and interrogated

The prison is run be the nefarius Director Doomgruule.

Image

What appears to be a rather boring day at first...

Image

...with only maintenance droids as company to Dr. Braghardt...

Image

...changes with Deadly Space Men on the attack!

Image

Katharina and Benjamin Braghardt have arrived to free their father by force!

Image

"At last. Zis is gonna be fun!"

Coldwitz prison ground level. Main entrance the lower left. Also there are barracks, armory, director's
office, kitchen, communications and stairs leading down.

Image

Coldwitz basement level featuring cells, interrogation chamber, droid control&maintenance as
well as stairs leading up.

Available factions:

Deadly Space Men:
lead by the heroes Katharina and Benjamin Braghardt. Bringin along the Javelin, the Red Tub, two small
flyers and a whole bunch of bloodthirty DSM. Objective: free Dr. Braghardt

Briktopians:
Commanded by Director Doomgruule the defenders have a lot of infantry, a Retaliator Dreadnut and two smaller vehicles.
Objective: defend the prison from attackers, Dr. Braghardt must not escape

One (and only one, unless you have a very good idea that fits and that i can actually build) secret faction!

Battle/house rules:
-all ranged weapons in the hands of DSM count as long ranged weapons because the DSM are that awesome
-no weapon, explosive or device at all can destroy the stairs or the floor between basement and ground level
-using said stairs is a free action, no shooting along the staircase

A "Prison Break" scenario? Hell yes, can't wait to see it!
Also, screw you. Now I feel like I must play some Escapists.

Believe me, it is. A bit pricey for retro-styled game, but definitely worth buying on a sale.

Re: Locked Up (turn 1)

Playing order was decided by dice roll.

Briktopian defenders played by bann154

Image

Infantry leaves the prison...

Image

...and takes defensive positions. There is not much cover though.

Image

The third squad was chilling in the barracks and doesn't make it to the outside yet.

Image

Meanwhile downstairs the scientists are wondering about the commotion.

Image

Since Dr. Braghardt is locked away safely they do not worry that much though.

Image

Outside the vehicles move up and fire on the Javelin. The smaller one hits and with some extra dices deals enough
damage to penetrate the Javelin's armor. It takes one point of size damage (13/14).

Image

The Retaliator advances as well but the Javelin is still out of range.

Dr. Braghardt played by Duerer:

Image

"Omnomnomnonm"

Image

"But now my little friend zere is some work to do." - *beep* *beep*

Image

The maintenance droid leaves Braghardt's cell.

Image

*beep* *beep* *beep* *beep*

Image

*brzzp* *brrzscp*

Deadly Space Men played by Brikguy0410:

Image

Flyers move up but their targets are just out of range.

Image

The RedTub accelerates towards the building and shoots at the wall. The shot scrapes off of the bunker like structure.

Image

"PUT THE PEDAL TO THE METAL! YEEHAA!"
Everybody braces for impact as the RedTub goes to full speed.

Image

The DSM on foot follow the RedTub which is outpacing them.

Image

They shoot the pilot of the small vehicle that put a dent into the Javelin.

Image

Katharina Braghardt grabs a radio and calls in reinforcements...

Image

But only some junk is airdropped as radio frequencies are unstable and her request was unintelligible. [feat failed]

Image

The Javelin moves and fires...

Image

But with a very poor damage roll it cannot overcome the Retaliators armor.

End of turn 1.

What i forgot to take a photo of was the Briktopian defenders shooting at the RedTub. Only two out of five hit and the damage was not enough.

Re: Locked Up (turn2)

Post by Apollyon » Sun Feb 28, 2016 12:23 pm

I changed the tablecloth to a green one. Again turn order was decided by rolling a d20:
Briktopians: 6
DSM: 12 (5)
Braghardt: 12 (4)
Most of the dice rolling during the game was done by my girlfriend so blame her for the results...

Deadly Space Men played by Brikguy 0140:

Image

The DSM flyer murders the gunner of the Briktopian 4x4

Image

The other one kills a defender.

Image

The Red Tub is going at full speed...

Image

And breaks the prison wall! [feat successful]
Three Briktopian soldiers have to bail. Two the left and the third one bails 6 inches to the right.

Image

Benjamin and the DSM begin to disembark.

Image

DSM shoot down three troopers (which had spent their responce action last turn shooting at the RedTub).

Image

The Javelin fires everything at the Retaliator. The main gun does not hit but everyting else does. The
machine gun salvos are particularly effective: 72 damage was dealt towards an armor roll of only 13. That's
five points of size damage and the Retaliator's effective size is reduced to 1.

Image

Katharina von Braghardt unloads a piece of equipment from the Javelin but it's not working and needs
repairs. (feat failed)

Dr. Braghardt played by Duerer:

Image

Braghardt stuffs the fish in his pockets and plays with his mysterious device.

Image

*beep* *beep* *clatter*

Image

The scientists finally realize whats going on: "Damn, Braghardt is using a device to control a maintance robot
which in turn just tried to get access to the security systems. We have to stop him!"
(feat failed)

Briktopians played by bann154:

Image

Half of the squad inside the prison prepares to make a stand in front of their stairs.

Image

While the other half goes downstairs to quell the robot rebellion.

Image

The Retaliator cannot operate its main weapons so in a desperate move it fires all rockets (size 1) at the
Javelin.

Image

It gets hit but poor damage rolls only result in one point of size damage. (12/14)

Image

The 4x4 fires its machine gun at the Jvelin but it jams on the first shot.

Image

While trying to get into cover defenders kill two DSM.

Image

The guys on the roof kill a DSM in the RedTub.

Image

While all damage bounces off the flyer.
