It is a beautiful day in the wood-panel forest and the citizens of a fledgling town enjoy the sunlight and tranquility.

Atop the castle sits Yvette and Roseia, the daughter and wife of local baron Otho, who is off taking care of other business.

The construction of a new curtain wall is supervised by Ancelot, a capable officer.

Suddenly, horseman thunder down the road, tossing citizens aside.

Ancelot hails the riders, what news have they to bring?

They hand him a missive. The Liossans are on the warpath and this settlement is directly in their path.
Ancelot issues a dizzying amount of orders to prepare his garrison and the people for the defense of the castle.

It doesn't take long for the Liossans to arrive, red and gold flags fluttering in the breeze.

The campaigns commanders set up their table and get comfortable. It's time to begin the siege and commence hostilities against their former allies. They have no siege weapons, but mercenaries are set to arrive in just a few turns with men and siege material.

The lull drags on for days. The innocent citizens inside the wall are lined up to get their ration under the watchful eyes of several guards.

Ancelot looks on from behind his makeshift defenses, waiting on the inevitable assault.

The baron's family sits atop the castle, nervously watching the buzzing of the enemy camp. It is imperative that they be kept safe from the foe.

It is almost time for battle.
