The New War - Turn 3

The fire grows, engulfing most of the barricade.
"Turn and fight!" shouts a footsoldier.
Spears are thrust at the horseman and the combined damage is enough to wound the horse.
The left flank is now clear of defenders.
Infantry advances without fear from Vasli arrows.
They deploy ladders and ascend.
Crossbows finally bring down the horse, but the rider's armor is too strong to be harmed.
The attack is in full swing.
The Steel Legion arrive and, after a brief moment of confusion, begin their attack.
They move up (with a healthy movement bonus to get to the excessive violence faster)
They, too, ascend the walls.
The ballista crew lines up a shot.
Their aim is a few inches off.
The Vasli cavalry are no less effective without their mounts.
Only one of them performs a successful attack.
The last crossbowman are unable to hit despite their excellent position.
The rangers and remaining cavalry move back to reinforce the docks.
The reloaded ballista is readied to bring more fiery hate.
The bolt sails off target.
The townspeople continue their defensive preparations.
Wait, what is this? What can they see on the horizon?
