TURN 8- FINAL TURN
General Lucresia's Squad:
Scavengers (Space Bunny)
The vermin pile upon Lucresia, trying their best to kill her, riddling her with bites and replacing half of her bodily fluids with venom. However, she manages to survive.
General Lucresia's Squad (ninja_bait)
Following his programming of attacking the neaerest enemy, the Legionnaire opens fire upon the giant skeleton. He probably hit a weak spot, because he manages to take of 2 of its 3 Size points.
Struggling out of the heap of vermin, Lucresia points dramatically and barks a command.
Everyone, get back to the bunker! Anyone who doesn't and survives will have their pay docked!
The threats, commands, and will for self preservation gives all of Lucresia's troops 2 actions, provided that one of them is used for sprinting or disengaging. FEAT SUCCESS
The Quagmire Gunner legs it as far as he can into cover, despite his armour weighing him down.
Amerigo uses one action to disengage and then another to sprint, allowing him to land safely inside.
General Lucresia disengages and hops theatrically over a jutting out section of wall.
Call in an orbital strike on the battlefield! Now!
The Army Statistician aims the strike, and a black disk has been placed where it is supposed to land. It will arrive at the end of the Graveyard Gang's Turn (since there is no next turn).
Graveyard Gang (Dragonking1411)
The lone Carrion flies in and tries to finish off Amerigo, but cannot peck through his armour.
Officer Pelvis decides that one round of ammunition is not enough to merely kill Lucresia. He wants to render the corpse unrecognisable. Not from spite, just cos it would be pretty funny if he did. He loads every bullet on his person in and surprisingly the rifle still works, just now with double damage. FEAT SUCCESS
Lucresia notices Officer Pelvis aiming the rifle, and grabs the Army Statistician as a redshirt.
NO! General, don't do this to me! I served you so loyally!
Well now you get to serve me through your death.
With a bang akin to a sonic boom, the rifle fires, sending Officer Pelvis toppling backwards from the kick. The impact of the bullet has such force that the redshirt explodes, and the blast sends Lucresia flying backwards.
She lands, disrupted, in the explosion crater.
The Legionnaire's prgramming only specified to kill the nearest enemy and never mentioned running away, so he didn't flee. this makes him an easy target for the giant skeleton, who squashes him like a juicy bug.
The neon laser from the orbital strike streaks down to the ground, in the completely wrong place, but hey, how are you meant to roll a 12 on a d6 anyway? All the loose items are thrown backwards, and the force manages to destroy part of the wall.
The explosion easily deals with the giant skeleton's last Size point, reducing it to nothing.
Even troops behind the wall are flung backwards, though none die.
(well played though!)
General Lucresia's Squad VICTORY
Graveyard Gang MINOR VICTORY
Ah, bollocks. It's not worth it boys, let's scram!
Their bones rattle as they exit from the battlefield, muttering threats under their non-existent breath.
the survivors are suddenly disturbed from their celebration of victory by a thumping on the hatch below.
Is it safe to come out yet?
More or less, Rodrigo.
Excellent. While you were up there playing the hero, we in the bunker managed to connect with the radio of our allies. We are not the only survivors!
Is there any news of father?
Yes, I suppose. But want to seee the mess you've made first.
What in the hell is that thing?
Head Engineer Amerigo:
It used to be a giant skeleton. I reckon that the radiation from the Doomsday Bomb has been causing all of these uncanny effects: animals to dramatically mutate, the dead to rise from their graves...
Interesting. And where did you get that hat?
Head Engineer Amerigo:
Some things are not to be questioned.
Now about that question about the Emperor, I do have news. He has died and passed on ownership of the New Roman Empire to us, his children.
You mean, he's passed on the responsiblilty of building it from the ground up onto us?
Now, you're just being silly-
Silly? Pah! Fine then, I will take over, since I doubt that you want to.
Yes, I will rebuild it- but not in his image. I will rebuild this rule in the way that I see fit! We fell because the old rule was to weak to hold it's own weight- I will change that. I will create a new government, stable and secure. The New Roman Empire died with the Emperor; this is now THE CLOCKWORK LEAGUE!
I tried out having all of the turns on one thread this time, and I think it is easier to navigate than having one thread per turn. An armoury post might be coming soon! Thanks for playing and I hope you enjoyed the battle!
