Crusade's End - Send orders for Round 3!

Interlude



The Falx Portal Fortress of Estius brims with magical power. Elite Scorpion Legion troops stand ready to guard it.



Lucia: "Hey you, haul ass! I've got crusaders hot on my tail!"

Falx Heavy Lancers deploy to counter the threat. Unbeknownst to them, Lucia has struck a deal with Queen Lara and is simply trying to draw more defenders away from the portal.



The prison wagon carries Aloysius Black, James the Black and Princess Lorreaine. It's a bit cramped in there. So much in fact that they couldn't wear their helmets or hair pieces.

Lucia, suspecting betrayal, has paid a witch to temporarily link her soul with Princess Lorreaine's, so if she is killed, so is Lorreaine. She does not wish to release her prisoners (even though they could help out in the fight) as she's using them for leverage until Queen Lara upholds her part of the bargain (granting her lands and titles in Westeron).



While Falx forces are distracted by the crusaders' main army, Queen Lara's elite strike force of lawyers- *cough* volunteers arrives. From the south-east Punik the Dwarf, Rolys the Daring and Droe De Alar.



From the north-east the Possessed Brethren (Tachi, who was secretly a girl all along, and Nodachi) and Lord Drakensy ('Drake 'n' Sy').



Leading a frontal assault, Lord Godfrey, still riding double horses, along with a royal paladin (Medik) and Squire Joul.



Finally, Queen Lara herself, accompanied by two Bloodguard and the Marshal of the Bloodguard.



The Falx deploy the garrison to keep the invaders away from the portal, while more troops are being mustered inside the portal fortress.







Kingdom objectives:

0. Lara and Lucia must survive.
1. Clear the defenders
2. Get Queen Lara to the portal.
3. Defend Kingdom forces (arrival pending) as they attempt to cross into the portal.

- Lord Godfrey (Heroic Knight cliché), - Squire Joul (Dimmy / Lucky Idiot Cliché), - Marshal of the Bloodguard (Champion Cliché, also capable of Blood Magic). This faction also controls the Royal Paladin (Medik) and the 2 Bloodguards (Elite Minifigs with 5 armour and 1d8 skill). - lordintype
- Lucia (Cunning Warlord Cliché). She has 4 standard Minifigs with pistols and hand weapons (thugs).

Falx and Queen Lara will be NPC'd.

Turn order is Kingdom 1st (order of posts and Lara moves last), Falx 2nd.

You can post your orders in this thread as it can help you coordinate. I'll leave sign-up open for a day or so, if we don't get enough people I'll divide the remaining characters across the people we already have.

We're in a target-rich environment!

Drakensly takes note of the trio of bad guys in front of him and ponders his options. He is going to attempt a heroic feat to run forward and leap OVER the trio of bad guys so he can strike them from behind with his axe!

Punik and Rolys exchange knowing looks. As Rolys draws a bead on the right-hand (closest) enemy, Punik grips shield and weapon firmly and bull-rushes the middle one, trying to shield-bash the middle one to the ground!

Well, I wasn't expecting control of this many characters!

Lord Godfrey will boldly charge the Falx squad directly in front of him, doing a spectacular trick that ends up with the horses riding him to intimidate the enemies. Squire Joul will follow and use a heroic feat to trip across something potentially useful (or detrimental, I suppose). The Royal Paladin will also follow Godfrey and shout words of encouragement.

The Marshal of the Bloodguard will attempt to challenge all three of the foes in his way to a duel simultaneously, while the other Bloodguards will slowly escort Queen Lara towards the portal.

[Infinity]

Droe de Alar attempts to uses his heroic feat to sneak behind the trio of enemies in front of him. He will then stab them in their unprotected backs.

Nodachi will use his heroic feat to pull a vial of deadly poison out of his pocket and cover his blade with it. He will then try to stab the enemies in front of him through the gaps that the shields don't cover.

Tachi will attempt to use the confusion from Drakensy's attack on the enemy troops to kill them while they are distracted.

Falx treachery! The magic of the portal disguised regular legionaries as Scorpion Legion, which bodes well for now, but raises the question where the actual elite soldiers actually are?

Scribonius



Unimpeded, Drakensy launches himself up and over the legionaries opposing him.



He strikes one of them down from behind before his mates even have time to look surprised.



Punik tries to knock over a Falx, but he stands his ground, while another protects himself from Rolys' shot with his shield.

Godfrey charges forward and skewers a legionary. He doesn't seem to mind.

"Dolce et decorum est..."



Whoa! Godfrey lance vaults himself over the enemy.



He then slips from the saddle, lands on his feet and balances both horses on his head, also catching his helmet with his lance.

"Hoes mad."

Frightened by this mad display, the other legionaries run like hell.

Joul trips over something.



Whatever it is, it looks useful!



The paladin advances and claps for Godfrey. He remains stoic, as a person balancing two horses on his head probably should.



The Marshal goads the Falx facing him into a fight, allowing Lara and the Bloodguards to pass by unharmed.



He jams his zweihander deep into one halberdier's mail.

Infinity



Droe heroically tries to stab an opponent from behind.



The Falx senses it however and retaliates, but Droe manages to parry.



Nodachi poisons his sword, gaining + 1d4 poison damage on his attacks for the round.



He attacks the nearest Falx, but the damage is absorbed by his shield.



Well, most of it. The poison and remaining +2 barely beats his armour.

"Fking cheat."

"lmao git gud."



Tachi successfully takes advantage of the confusion to deny the Falx opposite her a counter, but misses her attack.

Lucia - NPC



The prison wagon rolls on. The thugs fire shots at the crusaders, but it's only a ruse, they miss intentionally.

THE FALX



A legionary attacks Tachi, but finds his strike parried.



Droe, Punik and Rolys continue fighting the legionaries. Droe almost perishes but his armour roll is just barely sufficient. No one else gets hurt.



The legionaries guarding the portal send for fresh pants and form up, trying to find back their courage. Still shaking in their boots from Godfrey's feat, they can't do anything else this turn.



The Falx fighting the Marshal both miss. He elected to parry so doesn't counter.



Scorpion Legion gunners open fire from the top of the portal. Armour rolls prove sufficient, this time...



NATALYA HAS ARRIVED!

Nazlam the Minotaur and MFS (known to the crusaders as 'Boras Brewstone' as the Medivo Figs have no idea what a Manly Santa is) show up to kick some ass in the crusade's name! (Natty you can control both figs)



More Falx exit the portal fortress to drive back the crusaders.

[Scribonius]

Rolys rolls to his left, attempting to get away from the spear-armed soldier before him and tries to line up a shot on the soldier's unarmored side.

Punik stands his ground and just keeps hitting the soldier before him.

Drakensy, however, takes note of the halberdiers coming up behind him and realizes that his own back is exposed. Grabbing the shield from one of the fallen soldiers, he throws it like a discus at the halberdiers, hoping to at least disrupt them for a moment!

Round 2

Scribonius



Rolys successfully rolls out of close combat and appears on his opponent's unshielded side, then shoots him down.



Drakensy yeets a shield at the halberdiers.



It knocks over all three, disrupting them.



Punik smacks his opponent down.

Natalya



Manly Santa starts doing push-ups while Nazlam channels his rage. MFS sprains his wrist, so has to return one of his maces to his backpack, for now.



He's still Manly Santa though so he only needs one of his hands to bop a Falx soldier on the head.



Nazlam gets surrounded by flowers rather than the blood red berserker's rage he was trying to channel. There's even a cute doggo and stuff.



Nazlam strolls forward casually, enjoying the sun, the warm desert air, the gentle clatter of steel...

Lucia's cutthroats - NPC



Lucia reveals her treachery! Her war beast picks up a spear and stabs down an unsuspecting legionary. Lucia tries to pull a shooter down from the walls but accidentally pulls herself into the rock instead, smashes into it and falls unconscious.



The cutthroats open fire on the halberdiers. They hit but don't deal enough damage.



Two thugs shoot up at the Falx up on the fortress, but miss.

Drakensy yeets a shield at the halberdiers.



It knocks over all three, disrupting them.

Well, that worked far better than I'd imagined!

Nazlam gets surrounded by flowers rather than the blood red berserker's rage he was trying to channel. There's even a cute doggo and stuff.
