The final turn...

Orcs - Screech

Image
The final orc kills the last Black Knight spearman.

Undead - SirZaphod

Image
The last swordsman is killed in a withering hail of crossbow bolts.

Image
The Dread Knight lifts his mace to murder the peasant lady.

Image
But then, an arrow flies by and hits his hand, causing him to drop the mace.

Image
Some Elves appear out of the woods, right as two centauresses gallop forward.

Elven Warrior: "Hurry! You must retreat from here now! More Undead are coming!"

Image
The remaining peasants all turn towards the newcomers.

Image
They decide to follow the Elven warrior's advice and start running towards the Elves. The lady manages to mount a horse.

Image
The Centauresses gallop forward and pick up the two male peasants as the other Elves engage the Undead.

Centauress: "Quickly! Hop on my back!"

Image
All three peasants make it to safety.

Image
At the same time, the hero was able to mount the Knight's horse, and gallop away as well.

Image
During all the chaos, the mortally wounded Wolfpack climbs off his horse, and goes over to Thomas Cromwell.

Image
He heaves the bandit's body onto the horse,

Image
And slaps it on the rump before dying of his wounds.

Epilogue

In a clearing a good distance from the battle...

Image

Hero: "Thank you for saving us. We are in debt to you. But what are you doing so far from your lands?"

Image

Elven Ambassador: "You are most welcome. We have finally decided to fight back against this looming threat. If the Knights of the Black Dragon falls, we shall be left vulnerable and exposed. So, you are no longer alone in this fight..."

Well we did not manage to butcher all of them but I would say still a good day for undead and the dead aligned.

With the Dread Knight and Necromancer surviving the battle they should get some names and/or titles so they can continue to antagonize the humans.

The only way to win when getting attacked from two sides is to full out rush one side and overwhelm it so you can then turn to deal with the other side before they get to you. I wasted one of my feats and probably should've gone for the necromancer but was mostly trying to do that and I feel like the Black Knights really fought as NPC's, would be nice to have more people joining these battles so we can coordinate a bit. Brikwars isn't a very complicated game (which is why I like it) but being able to use simple tactics makes it more fun, otherwise you're just rolling the dice.

Sorry, being the GM means I know what everyone else is going to do, it would be unfair for me to use that knowledge to my advantage. For instance, one of SirZaphod's orders was this:

Then any skeleton that can reach the hero will attack him.
once the hero is down to 1 HP or I run out of troops the Dreadkight will challenge him to dual.
I then wasn't going to move my hero out of the way and nullify this order. Instead I played it out like how it went down.

I agree completely! Although no one seems to check the Forums anymore/or want to participate.

Yeah I don't blame you, I know the disadvantage of having to NPC factions myself, would just like more people to join because of that. In the end winning or losing is not a big deal it's just fun to think of strategies and coordinate a bit together.

If it can't be avoided, what you can do is do your turn first, post it and then let people send their orders.
