The Battle for the Derelict Ship - Turn 3

Post by Joshua » Wed Jun 08, 2022 12:03 am

Warning: Epic turn ahead!

Neo-Prussians - Bragallot

Image
The Prussian turns almost 180 degrees and turns to face their pursuers.

Image

Himmelsjäger: "I wish it didn't have to be this way, but you've left us no other choice."

Image
The Himmelsjäger personally fires the ion cannon at the Star of Assyria.

Image
And it connects!

Image
The Star of Assyria's shields suddenly start to flicker and short out.

Image

Assyrian pilot: "Sir! Our shields are down! We've been hit by an ion cannon!"

Image

Assyrian Major: "Shit..."

Image
The three Neo-Prussian cruisers concentrate fire onto the Star of Assyria's bridge.

Image

Image
Devastating damage completely decimates the entire bridge.

Normally, this would spell a ship's end, but since Assyrian ships have a lower deck that can help control the ship, the Star of Assyria is merely crippled, with all further skill rolls of any kind having a -1 modifier, plus no heroic feats.

Image

The mobhunters combine fire and take out a Mercury's shields.

Image
And then two fire their torpedoes.

Image
Boom! The frigate loses a SP.

Immortals - Screech (NPC)

Image
The MK.II missile slams into the Mercury, heavily damaging it.

Image
And the fighters come in to finish it off.

Image
Not wishing to get caught between the Assyrians and Prussians, they fly towards the rear of the Destroyer. Unfortunately, this puts them in range of the ship's aft main turret, which destroys a fighter with some good overskill dice.

Image
Meanwhile, the Destroyer fires everything :all: and takes out the Akkadian Assault Cruiser's shields.

Image
Then it moves over and forward a smidge.

Image
The crippled Death Everest fires it's remaining MK.II missile launcher.

Image
The missile, along with a shot from the ship's main turret, destroys the Akkadian torpedo frigate.

Image

Commander Graves: "All personnel ready to board! Prepare to execute the Tassadar Maneuver!"

Image
Seeing the writing on the wall, Commander Graves orders the ship full speed ahead, putting it on a collision course with the Akkadian Cruiser whose shields are down.

Image
SCREEEEEEEEEEE!!! CSSSSSSSSSHHHHHH!!! VA-BOOOOOOOMMMM!!!

Image
The Death Everest is completely and utterly annihilated, and the Akkadian Cruiser takes some serious damage, losing 3 SP.

Image
The cruiser also loses a main turret, it's main laser cannon, and a boarding tube.

Image
And finally, the Destroyer fires it's MK.I missiles.

Image
One hits the Akkadian Cruiser, unfortunately dealing no damage, while the other will need a turn to turn around.

On board the intact Akkadian Cruiser:
Image
The Immortals have managed to breach the hull and have boarded! An Akkadian squad as well as two fanatics are en route to deal with the intruders.

Image
There are 2 Terrorkhan, 3 regular Immortal troops, Commander Graves (wearing the gold visor), and 2 pilots. (the guys in green armor)

Akkadians - ArchyX74

Image
The Akkadians immediately retaliate, with the fighters coming in from behind while the crippled cruiser fires it's remaining turrets at the Immortal Destroyer. They manage to completely disable it's shields.

Image
The Destroyer's anti-fighter turrets respond, taking out the shields on the lead fighter.

Image
And the crippled Cruiser moves forward as best it can.

Image
Meanwhile, the intact Assault Cruiser fires at the Neo-Prussians, taking out 2 shield points on an Eagle.

Image
Then it also moves forward.

Image

Akkadian Commander: "Attention any nearby Akkadian vessels, please warp to these coordinates! Assistance is needed to secure the OT."

Assyrians - Cracjaw

Image
The Assyrians fighters take revenge and strip an Eagle of 2 shield points.

Image
And the last Mercury fires at an Immortal fighter, taking out it's shields.

Image
Next, the Star of Assyria fires it's Hyper Phase Cannon, knocking out the rest of the Eagle's shields and dealing a SP of damage.

Image
After firing it's main turrets and having them all fail to hit or deal enough damage, the Destroyer fires it's Light Super Lasers.

Image
They knock off another SP.

Image
Then the mangled ship moves forward some.

Endgame:

Image
An Akkadian Attack Frigate warps in, responding to the transmission!

Image
Uh oh...

Image
KER-BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

Image
Well, that Attack Frigate didn't last very long. What could have attacked it?

Image

"Weapons charged and ready."

TheTrollgineer has entered the game!

(So yeah, your reinforcements heroic feat roll went pretty badly, Archy.)

Bonus points if anyone can figure out what the 'Tassadar Maneuver' is a reference to.

Uuuuuuuuh... Oh fuck. That's not good. Let's finish off the immortals and anyone else firing on us then worry about who tf just shot down my reinforcements. Also, get tf off my ship boneheads. As for the next feat, let's just give the immortals a taste of their own medicine and enact a ramming manoeuvre with all guns blazing into their last ship. They're going down whether they like it or not.

Hey guys! Just giving a small update: I had to move the entire battlefield because reasons, and I still need to painstakingly set it back up before I can do the turn. So, sorry about the delay, but in the meantime, please enjoy this:

Image

QS Bragallot: "Zo, let'z zee, if I move my ships here... Nien, nien, zat vouldn't vork."

Image

QS Bragallot: 'muttering to himself'

QS Archy: "What the?"

Image

QS Bragallot: 'still muttering to himself'

QS Archy: "AAH! Not another bounty hunter!"

Image
'bam' 'bam'

QS Archy: "AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!"

QS Bragallot: "Vhat za?"

Image

QS Archy: 'distant yelling'

QS Joshua: "So, Brag, how's that battle of yours coming along? Isle of Mist I think it was called?"

Image

QS Bragallot: "Ah. Zat one. Coming along, bud it's zlow, as uzual."

Image

QS Joshua: "Ok, thanks! Just making sure you hadn't forgotten about it."

QS Archy: "Why didn't I bring a weapon?"

Image

QS Bragallot: "Zo, do you vant to help him or should I?"

Image

QS Joshua: "..."

QS Archy: "GUYS! I could use some help right about now!"

Image

QS Joshua: 'Sigh'

QS Archy: "GUYS!"

Image
'whoosh'

Image
'splut'

QS Bragallot: "Nice drow."

QS Joshua: "Thanks."

Image

QS Archy: "Whew! Thanks for taking care of that guy!"

QS Joshua: "Anytime."

LMFAO! Absolutely spot on with the madness once again!
Why can't bounty hunters just let me enjoy my day for once without trying to shank me?

I know, right? Although I think they might have a hard time kill you, being a Quantumsurfer and all.
