It's the early afternoon of a beautiful day. A perfect day for festivities.
... or at least, it is for those who aren't trapped inside doing housework all day, those like the Tebaud brothers. These apprentices drew the short end of the straw and have to work during the biggest day of the year, of all time even! People have be partying since the sun came up this morning. And yet, the brothers have spent the entire day with grime up to their elbows.
*mumble*"...at least we're almost done. We won't miss the firework show.. "*grumble*
"Boys!" Maid Emblyn bursts into the room "The Council declared an urgent meeting for here in the private study, we need this room in tip-top shape asap!"
"Aw What! I was almost friggin' done! I've got a date in a hour and was already cutting it close!" Biffrey groans to no one that's listening: the others in the room ignore his typical complaining.
"Stupid Council, why would they give anyone any work at all on a day like this. Why not host their stupid meeting tomorrow?" He gives the chair a good hearty *Thwack* for emphasis.

The discarded cork crashes into a crystal artifact left on the table.
