Faction 1: Skorpion Thugs




Faction 2: The Black Falcons




Objective: this treasure chest




Details:

Skorpion Thugs, played by me.
8 minifigs total, including:

• 1x Pyromancer
• 1x Heavy
• 2x Armed Peasant

Black Falcons, played by Falk.
6 minifigs total, including:

• 1x Heavy
• 2x Archer

Falcons have the initiative

TURN 1 - Black Falcons


The 2 archers combine fire on the Jaw-Jaw thug, utilizing their +2" range from standing on the wall.




It's a kill! One arrow strikes the shield, but the other deals lethal damage. First Blood.




One Falconer slides down the ladder and begins dragging the chest away from the gate. He doesn't get very far yet, because the chest is heavy.




"See Rodri, that's exactly what I'm talking about. The battle hasn't even begun and this chump is already making a run for it. With the gold, too!"




A Falcon Guard runs up the stairs to operate the drawbridge




The drawbridge is slightly raised, while the remaining Falcons form a shield wall.




TURN 1 - Skorpion Thugs


Thugs decide to throw the peasants at the defensive line first. Both of them sprint at the bridge




Smashing into the defenders, one of the peasants is gutted skywalker-style. The other is unharmed and begins to harass the Heavy




A thug destroys one of the bridge chains.




A thug jumps on the drawbridge, the Heavy latches on.




TuskenThug throws his axe, but the weapon is parried by the Falconer




This thug rolls a 6 and then a 1 on his sprint roll. He manages to sprint aaaaalll the way to the wall, but forgets to stop in time. He's disrupted from the bonk.




PyroManny moves up and channels his fiery energy, prepared to set the tree ablaze.




He launches a firebolt...




... but it lands almost directly in front of him. Other than frying a fish in the moat, noone but himself is damaged from the 2" radius of fire.




Overwatch:

TURN 2 - Black Falcons

The archers focus fire on the pyromancer. One of them misses, launching the arrow into a birds nest in the tree.




The other uses his First Blood Benny to kill the mage effectively.




Mama bird is pissed that there is now an arrow in her nest, so she attacks the archer.




The Falconer who was at the bridge controls hops down. He yeets his spear through the defensive opening at the attackers below.




The spear strikes the peasant thug, not harming him but knocking him off the bridge.




The Falconer then runs down the stairs, grabs his shield and a new spear, and joins the shield wall.




Chest dude drags the chest around the corner and covers it with some leaves for camouflage.




And then he quickly makes his way back to the skirmish at the gatehouse.




The two shielded falconers make a charge, killing the TuskenThug.




TURN 2 - Skorpion Thugs


Heavy Thug swings his mighty hammer at Heavy Falconer. It doesn't harm him, but it does send him flying off the bridge.




The Heavy ends up in the water.

"Remember Lieutenant, you can't swim with heavy armor on. Best get rid of your bodily protection next turn."
"Yes, thank you Philomela, I am aware."




After giving some much needed advice, Philomela parries the Thug who swung his weapon at her.




Philomela is on fire! Literally! Because the thug who fell in the water grabs one of the torches and lights her up.




Meanwhile, this thug begins climbing the tree to try and get over the wall.




Overwatch

TURN 3 - Black Falcons

"I'll just try swimm... "




BLUB




"Lieutenant!"




Philomela helps the Falcon Heavy out of the water




The Heavy immediately rushes back into action. He decapitates a thug but forgets to say 'thank you'.




Both Falcon Archers try to shoot the thug from the tree. One critfails, breaking his bow into two pieces. The other is too hindered by the bird and misses.




The 2 remaining Falcons gang up on the thug in the moat. They both get in an Over The Top attack.




The thug in killed, and the overskill from the attackers causes his torch to set fire to the Heavy!




TURN 2 - Skorpion Thugs


The thug climbs higher up in the tree and yeets his weapon at one of the archers, ending him.




The Heavy decides to stop, drop, and roll to put out the flames.




Realizing he's outnumbered, the Heavy decides to make a run for it, ditching his armor for greater speed.




Mama bird returns with a vengeance, chasing the thug out of her nest. The thug falls to his demise.




Final Overwatch

An (almost) flawless win for the Falcons!

Epilogue



Rodri: "I'm sorry Lord Bull, I really think you were wrong. Those Falcon soldiers in tan outfits held up quite well. You could even say that they carried the defending team today. Excellent tactics, deadly att..."
Cedric: "Yeah yeah, boy, I've been watching the same battle as you, and you made your point. But I still don't have faith in those men. When Jagga's orks show up, you'll see that the Black Falcons are far from prepared to properly defend this gatehouse."
Rodri: "If."
Cedric: "Just you wait, Rodri."
