campaign forum battle idea

this is my idea for a forum battle

Image

the idea is i make a map of planets and each player gets a home planet and has to conquer the other players home planets, at the end of each turn players get points to build bases and create more unit's. yes actual real life brick combat is involved as each planet has a battlefield and winning the planet gets you the planet the battle wil be divided into map movement and planet battle. each player has space fleets so space battles are involved.

any ideas are welcome.

Cool. Any chance you'd wanna use my new BrikSpace rules for the space combat? You're more than welcome to.

Of course, I'd also be down for playing in a campaign like that, if you were to run such a thing. Even if you didn't use my rules :)

Your single largest problem, I think, would be keeping track of and finding a good system for all the planetary invasions that go on. Because everyone who sends orders are probably going to invade the first neutral or enemy planet they find, and thus you'll have somewhere near five battles going at once. That'd just be a hassle, and not worth it, in my mind.

i was planning to use the new microspace rules by lukas (gladius on flickr)
and just to add some new rules, i've had a look at yours and they seem a bit complicated

It may appear that way, but the most complex part is the fleet building, because I tried to provide so many fleet options. The actual gameplay shouldn't be as complex as all that.

But those rules look cool. If this were to happen, would you host it, or is this simply an idea that you'd want to see happen, but don't have the space/resources/time to put it together?

well i have a lot of lego i just never find uses for it as i don't collect speciffic sets but if i'm creating several planets with different planetary design than i can make use of all my lego also im planning to buy the fleets from LDD.

Coolness! I'll keep an eye on this, I totally want a spot. Maybe it'll give me a few ideas for my own micro-scale Brikwars Supplement.

i could let players decide what theres ships are called what there civillisation is called or even let players have a decision in the design of there ships and armies.

That'd be cool. Maybe, have them submit their LDD files to you, or some such.

That actually sounds like an awesome idea, but you'd have to put an IRL price limit on the factions so you don't have to shell out a lot of money.

Also I hope you plan on overpowering the green faction because they are pretty much screwed right now.

Hehe, I don't think that's an actual map, Ecabob, I think he was just showing us an example.

i love this idea - mainly cos i thought of it too in BlockWar of the Future

looks like you got it first though - can i have a place so i can see how it works out

using LDD as a fleet builder was a good idea too - every now and again i string together a couple of bricks and call them a space station or capital ship. i might use ldd to make all my armies depending on who wants it

If you're going to do it, I'm interested.

PM me if this thing gets off the ground. (Please and thank you.)
