Post your Forum Battle Scenarios Here!
I was thinking lately that what we might be able to use would be a giant repository of ideas for Forum Battles, for people who want to host one but have no ideas. Please try to keep the one sentence ideas to a minimum, though.
OREGON TRAIL: an Oregon Trail style race between three or so wagons, each with three or so players. Battles would be against natives, animals, each other, etc. Requires few parts, but Paint for the map.
DUNGEON CRAWL: the players are all on a team, trying to get to the end of a large dungeon. The host would play as DM. Players could design their own characters.
TRENCHES: battle between two trenches, WWI style. Uses artillery, machine guns, etc. It would probably take a while, though.
PIRATES: an escort mission where some players must get a merchant ship or something past another group of players (pirates). But it's entirely on the water, with ships. Maybe Somali pirates would be easier to build.
PIRATES II: treasure hunting with small player-controlled pirate crews around a lot of islands, while the Imperial players hunt them down. Pirates want to get the most gold before X, but Imperials want to kill enough pirates before X. Points would be good.

URBAN ASSAULT: the battlefield is made up of a dense maze of multistorie urban buildings, there would be abandoned cars on the roads, each player has a small team of 5-7 minifigures.
Kerbal Rocketry(my youtube with actual videos on it!)
Muffinman aka. second account of Tahthing. Not technically troll account, as it was made out of shame.

Zombie Survivors:
Players control 1-3 fig teams that are placed in the middle of a small city/town. In order to win, they must find a vehicle, fuel it up, and drive/fly/sail out of town with out getting their brains eaten.
PS If I finish Project: Reeve soon I'll do this.

MOUNTAIN SKIRMISH: Two sides, and possibly several secret factions from the mountains. The battle occurs in a gorge-type set-up, with a flat area in the center and mountains on two sides (or three or four). Two (small or large) armies oppose eachother at either end of the flat area, and any secret factions run in from the mountains.
(Also, that Dungeon Crawl scenario is better suited to BrickQuest, not BrikWars)

Well, in essence, I was going for a BrickQuest Forum Battle, but with less emphasis on the grid, and more on the carnage.Olothontor wrote: (Also, that Dungeon Crawl scenario is better suited to BrickQuest, not BrikWars)
ZOMBIE CAMPING: Three families of three, using the Call of Brikthulhu rules (see my thread). Each family must kill the other families off, while avoiding wild animals and monsters, in a forest, at night. The catch? Take the photos in the dark, and have players use light sources (fig has flashlight=shine a flashlight on the area) to get better views. Needs lots of trees, though. Also, have a host-controlled 'detective' fig going around, whose pictures are posted each turn in the thread, so people can sort of see the action without spoiling the surprise too much.

Awesome. Are you going to host it, are is that someone else's job? Being a D&D player, I'd be all over a merger of Brikwars and D&D (part of the reason BrickQuest so appeals to me).RDLC wrote: Well, in essence, I was going for a BrickQuest Forum Battle, but with less emphasis on the grid, and more on the carnage.

FORUM WARS: Sig-figs of well-known/infamous forum members like IVhorseman, j+b, Olothontor, MasterEcabob, Elmagnifico, NatalyaAF, and Pesgores (including Rayhawk in the battle would be unfair since he would destroy all the other players on the first turn) would battle for supremacy on whatever sort of map the host can make. Each player would gain points for killing other players, and each player would have a character-specific objective (for instance, IVhorseman would have to eliminate all vehicles which are not, by the strictest possible definition, tanks, and Pesgores would have to destroy any terrain that is not on a baseplate) which would gain them points. Also, each player would have a special ability of some sort that would be unique to his character.

Well, I'm actually starting a new FB today, so I'm not able to do one, yet, but afterwards, that is exactly what I plan to do. However, if anyone wants to host one in the meanwhile, feel free. The point of this thread is sharing ideas, after all.Olothontor wrote:Awesome. Are you going to host it, are is that someone else's job? Special forces: One team has 3 or 4 figs who try to infiltrate an enemy base with dozens of guards and have to steal donuts or something

The Haunter of the Dark
Based on the short story of the same name by H.P. Lovecraft.
Setting
The setting is Providence, Rhode Island in the 1920s. Thanks to a violent storm, the power has gone out tonight.. The Church of Starry Wisdom has taken this opportunity to summon the Haunter of the Dark.
Factions
The Townsfolk: Your mission is to survive until the power company restores power to the town. The townsfolk begin the game spread around the town, and have everything from pitchforks and torches to shotguns. Many are unarmed.
The Cultists: Your mission is to cause mayhem and provide sacrifices to the Haunter. The cultists begin the game in their massive stone church, and all of them are armed.
The Police: You must stop this mayhem! Any civilians engaging in violent behavior are to be arrested or shot on sight! The majority of the police are at the station house, but a few are patrolling street corners. All the police have a club, handcuffs, and a pistol. The station house has shotguns, tommyguns, and BARs.
The Monstrosity Itself
There is no physical model to represent the haunter. Each turn any figure in a non lighted area must roll a 4 or higher on a skill roll to survive. If they fail they are gruesomely disfigured and killed by the Haunter. Add 1 to the roll if the figure is a cultist. The Haunter cannot enter lighted areas.
Lights
Since the haunter cannot enter a lighted area, lights are very important.
Candles illuminate a 2" radius.
Torches illuminate a 6" radius.
Lanterns illuminate an 8" radius.
Flashlights illuminate a 12" by 6" cone.
Scientology Assault
After the failure of the latest Scientologist plot to overthrow the US government, the President has had enough. The Supreme Court rules that Scientology is no longer a religion, and is instead a threat to democracy. Across the USA, scientology centers are raided by crack police and federal government squads, in some places meeting with fanatical resistance.
Setting
A Scientologist center in any city. A building which could include an "auditing" center, dormitories, an assembly hall, a cafeteria, an armory, and a vault full of tax exempt riches. The building has been surrounded by the local police, the FBI, and the IRS. Inside the building are many Scientologists of varying levels of commitment. The die hard Scientologists will use the others as hostages.
Factions
Scientologists: Defend your sacred ground from the vile minions of the Macrab Confederacy! A Billion Years for L Ron Hubbard! These hollow shells the servants of Xenu call bodies are of no use to us, human life has no value. You have pistols, shotguns, rifles, and a good supply of illegal explosives.
Police: These whack jobs have crossed the line! Get in there, neutralize those psychos, rescue the hostages, and bring order to chaos! You have pistols, rifles, shot guns, and bullet proof vests.
FBI: Scientology is complete bull****, but people around the world believe in it. Obviously mind control is involved. Seize any documents you can get your hands on, papers, CDs, the whole shebang. Maybe we can find out how they spin horrible science fiction into holy books for thousands. You have assault rifles, pistols, rifles, snipers, shotguns, a helicopter, bullet proof vests, etc.
IRS: Now that it's not a religion, Scientology technically owes years of back taxes on it's billions of dollars in revenues. Get in there and grab as much money as you can. You don't give a damn about hostages. You are armed with pistols, rifles, shotguns, and various vehicles.
Some Rules
The Scientologists may kill hostages at will.
The Police and FBI should try to rescue as many hostages as possible.
The Police, FBI, and IRS are allied, although factional bickering is expected.
