Battle for Serpent Rock - Top Thread
Hello All. I've been left, alone, with Legos, for all of a single day. Thus, I've put together this battle for us. Don't mind the (somewhat poor) construction values - these were slapped together for fun and mayhem over the course of a single morning.
The Turns
Turn 0
Turn 1
Here's the overview:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4003364472/" title="Turn 0 - From Behind Team 1"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3457/400 ... 65c0_o.jpg" width="486" height="648" alt="Turn 0 - From Behind Team 1"></a><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4003364524/" title="Turn 0 - From Behind Team 2"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2670/400 ... 3af6_o.jpg" width="486" height="648" alt="Turn 0 - From Behind Team 2"></a>
Here you see the battlefield from each of the sides' perspectives (or rather, over them). The allied Black Barge Rats and Blue Barrel Tub have been ambushed by the combined forced of the Yellow Rain mercenaries, and the Red Dragon Reenactments pirates.
This is a naval battle (alas, no real water - blue felt must suffice), pitting two teams of two against each other. I'm looking for four players, who can post quite often over the next week or so. I'd like to get at least one turn done per day, so if you're not able to commit to at least that much, please don't volunteer.
There are four factions, each organized onto two-men teams.
Team 1 consists of the Black Barge Rats and the Blue Barrel Tub. Their combined objectives are to destroy the Sea Creature Controller, and either destroy or rout the other two teams - killing their Heroes might be a good place to start. *nudge nudge*
Black Barge Rats - (lrdofbricks)
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4002602767/" title="Black Barge Rats - Team Overview"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2623/400 ... ff80_o.jpg" width="559" height="346" alt="Black Barge Rats - Team Overview"></a>
Here's an overview of the team. The Barge itself can move, but it's extremely slow.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4003365648/" title="Black Barge Rats - 01 Pontoon Assault Boats by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3440/400 ... 1c51_o.jpg" width="371" height="271" alt="Black Barge Rats - 01 Pontoon Assault Boats"></a>
The Pontoon Assault Boats are heavily armed with a decent speed. They usually run interference for the larger Barge.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4003365682/" title="Black Barge Rats - 02 Scootypuff Senior by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2422/400 ... f8bc_o.jpg" width="181" height="235" alt="Black Barge Rats - 02 Scootypuff Senior"></a>
The Scootypuff Senior is a heavy assault pontoon boat (well, it has -one- pontoon). The two things on the sides are heavy torpedoes (really heavy). Once those are used up, the driver needs to get up close and personal.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4003365734/" title="Black Barge Rats - 03 Heavy Gun - Master Monocle - Cannon by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3501/400 ... c466_o.jpg" width="431" height="299" alt="Black Barge Rats - 03 Heavy Gun - Master Monocle - Cannon"></a>
From left to right: the Heavy Gun (a massive gattling gun for defense), Master Monocle (the Black Barge Rats' Hero, and a Sniper), and a Cannon Emplacement (it's a cannon). Master Monocle is an expert shot, but his true calling is being Snooty and Rich.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4002602921/" title="Black Barge Rats - 04 Cannon - Flag and Flag Guard by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2592/400 ... 2359_o.jpg" width="240" height="325" alt="Black Barge Rats - 04 Cannon - Flag and Flag Guard"></a>
The second Cannon Emplacement (still just a cannon), and the Flag. Why is the flag important? Well, check out Team 2's objectives. Oh, and that Orange guy? He's one of the Flag Guardian's. I'll be playing those.
Blue Barrel Tub - (Cpl. Halan or ???)
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4003364978/" title="Blue Barrel Tub - Team Overview"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3468/400 ... 9a99_o.jpg" width="442" height="365" alt="Blue Barrel Tub - Team Overview"></a>
Here's the team overview. Note that the Blue Barrel Tub consists just of the crew of the Tub itself - but don't worry, it's got more than enough going for it.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4002602525/" title="Blue Barrel Tub - 01 Forward Barrel Cannons by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2511/400 ... 34d4_o.jpg" width="306" height="291" alt="Blue Barrel Tub - 01 Forward Barrel Cannons"></a>
These are the Forward Barrel Cannons. There are two of them, each manned by a gunner. They're quite deadly, and have a decent range - but like most larger weapons, they're not very accurate. Oh, and there's a crewman on the bow, with a rifle - but you can hardly see him. He's there though, I promise.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4003365352/" title="Blue Barrel Tub - 02 Big Boy Barrel Cannon by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2462/400 ... 2748_o.jpg" width="333" height="342" alt="Blue Barrel Tub - 02 Big Boy Barrel Cannon"></a>
The "Big Boy" is the Tub's pride and joy. It's like the barrel cannons on the front, but, y'know - four times larger. It has an extreme range and does just silly damage -but it fires in an arc, so its projectiles don't land until the next turn. Easy to dodge? Maybe. But if it hits, YOU WILL DIE.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4003365424/" title="Blue Barrel Tub - 03 The Rest of the Crew by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3477/400 ... 03d7_o.jpg" width="386" height="363" alt="Blue Barrel Tub - 03 The Rest of the Crew"></a>
Here we have the rest of the Crew (with Rifles), the Flag (with Flag Guardian - again, he's in Orange), and at the bottom, Boss Blue Better - the ship's captain, and the Blue Barrel Tub's Hero.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4003365478/" title="Blue Barrel Tub - 04 Boss Blue Betty by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2498/400 ... b3e6_o.jpg" width="231" height="292" alt="Blue Barrel Tub - 04 Boss Blue Betty"></a>
Boss Blue Betty is armed with a shiny double-spear, and a big big auto-pistol. She's quite the confused Hero, but she probably falls best under the Ship's Captain cliche - whatever that means.
Team 2 consists of the Yellow Rain mercenaries and Red Dragon Reenactments. Their combined objective is simple: to capture both of the flags (one of the Blue Barrel Tub, and one of the Black Barge Rats' barge). They'll need to either board the two ships to do so, or destroy them. They should be careful though - each flag is guarded by a Flag Guardian (I mean, what else would they do?) - an elite soldier armed with a big, angry, chainsaw.
Yellow Rain - (Natalya)
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4003364584/" title="Yellow Rain - Team Overview"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2459/400 ... 51a3_o.jpg" width="538" height="387" alt="Yellow Rain - Team Overview"></a>
Here's the team overview. Note all the sea critters - the team can command them to do their bidding, along with any other critters they might find lurking about. *nudge nudge*
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4002601827/" title="Yellow Rain - 01 Rocket Skiffs and Shotgun Skiers by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3468/400 ... cc7f_o.jpg" width="567" height="368" alt="Yellow Rain - 01 Rocket Skiffs and Shotgun Skiers"></a>
The two Rocket Skiffs are probably the fastest things on the battlefield. Each has a single gunner/driver, with a light cannon. Behind them are Water Skiers with Shotguns - they might be deadly if they get close-up.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4003364682/" title="Yellow Rain - 02 Elite Croc Riders by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2477/400 ... df2c_o.jpg" width="288" height="272" alt="Yellow Rain - 02 Elite Croc Riders"></a>
You -have- to be Elite to ride a Croc - well, to do so without it EATING YOU. These guys prefer to run around in... well... they've got loincloths for some reason. They prefer to get up-close and personal, and like to bring their Crocs with them when they board ships.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4003364730/" title="Yellow Rain - 03 The Storm Captain - Tamer of Sharks by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2537/400 ... b801_o.jpg" width="272" height="281" alt="Yellow Rain - 03 The Storm Captain - Tamer of Sharks"></a>
A Berseker. With a minigun. Riding sharks. Need I say anything more? The Storm Captain is Yellow Rain's Hero. Don't let the tamed animals or the gun fool you - he's a Berserker at heart.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4002601959/" title="Yellow Rain - 04 The Seacreature Domination Device by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2609/400 ... 0779_o.jpg" width="241" height="326" alt="Yellow Rain - 04 The Seacreature Domination Device"></a>
The Seacreature Domination Device isn't really a unit. It just floats there. And controls sea creatures nearby. It's important, I sear.
Red Dragon Reenactments - Strana
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4002602025/" title="Red Dragon Reenactments - 00 Team Overview by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2517/400 ... e127_o.jpg" width="468" height="335" alt="Red Dragon Reenactments - 00 Team Overview"></a>
Here's the team overview. These guys are usually a medieval reenactment group, though they'll really do anything that comes to mind.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4002602059/" title="Red Dragon Reenactments - 01 Assault Boats and Boarding Teams by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2663/400 ... 02c8_o.jpg" width="572" height="314" alt="Red Dragon Reenactments - 01 Assault Boats and Boarding Teams"></a>
The Assault Skiffs sport some heavy-duty double-cannons. They also carry an extra troop each, intended for boarding parties. Or birthday parties.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4002602111/" title="Red Dragon Reenactments - 02 Missile Outriggers by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2632/400 ... fe7c_o.jpg" width="495" height="476" alt="Red Dragon Reenactments - 02 Missile Outriggers"></a>
The Missile Outriggers lend some heavy, long-range firepower to the team. The drivers each carry a Blunderbuss for when they run out of missiles. They think it's period-accurate - it's not.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43471529@N07/4002602143/" title="Red Dragon Reenactments - 03 The Everynerd by AllBricksUnited - Forum Battles, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2452/400 ... dd64_o.jpg" width="251" height="230" alt="Red Dragon Reenactments - 03 The Everynerd"></a>
The Everynerd is the Hero (and organizer) for Red Dragon Reenactments. He joined the battle in a hurry, and didn't know what the theme was - so he brought a little of everything: a weird penis costume (for superheros), a waraxe (for DnD), a blaster rifle (for Starwars), and his Anime Wig (for... anime?). He's also riding in style, in the "Enterprise - B" - a rocket-propelled bucket, shaped sort of like the starship Enterprise.
So, any takers?

Alright, and Yes.
I'll post a Turn 0 some time around lunch (class is too soon now, and I decided to sleep in - classy, I know).

Warhead: Well, if anyone doesn't submit orders for Turn 1, I'll PM you and have you take over.
Who knows. Maybe something will "come up" in the future.

Alright. Turn 1 is up.
Warhead, if you want a slot, you've got it (I've PMed you). Anyone else who's interested in case more players disappear, just drop you name in this thread and I'll let you know if we get a place for you. (I don't really expect any more dropouts though - fair warning.)

We're (A.) Waiting for orders for Red and Black, and (B.) likely unable to go home until ~9pm (pacific) tonight. I'm hoping (A.) will sort itself out pretty quickly, and I'm hoping (B.) will get avoided by liberal application of terrible weather (come on Blackout! Papa needs the afternoon off!)NatalyaAF wrote:So, Turn 2?
