Undead Strike Force

The ranger blocked the first blow behind his back...

Image

... and the next one as well.

Urban Guard

Image

Lieutenant: "For the Empire!"

The men roared along with him, encouraged to strike harder the next time they would get a chance.

Image

The guard and his newfound friend were encouraged as well, but they moved slightly slower with the armour they were wearing.

Dwellers

Image

The healer shook his staff once more...

Image

This time with succes; one of the few still salvageable soldiers was healed.

Image

The Ranger dispatched another Shade.

Image

The last remaining Shade used one of his more useful powers to pull his fallen companion's weapons towards him. (I decided to play out the rest of the fight to finish up what would otherwise take a couple of very short turns).

Image

He feigned an attack with one blade...

Image

And then struck with the other. The Ranger was killed!

Image

The healer was next.

Image

Or not.

The rest of the fight:

Image

The fight was pretty uneventful due to low damage rolls while I was hoping to liven things up with a double-blade wielding ninja kicking ass before being killed, but it wasn't to be: the cavalry finally arrived.

Image

He stood no chance.

Final overview.

Aftermath

Lieutenant: "So, what were those creatures, and more importantly, who are you?"

Image

Healer: "They were undead. We suspect they may have created an unholy alliance with the Bulls, although we can't be certain at this time. As for me, I'm a Dweller. For generations, we've lived in the forests beyond the Kingdom's borders, fighting Bulls, undead and other horrors. Now, we've decided we need to unite against this threat."

Lieutenant: "Why didn't you warn us? We could've worked together a lot sooner!"

Healer: "That would've been problematic. We were banished. We're descendant from the Ghost Foxes, the border guardians of old, and-"

Image

Lieutenant: "Ghost Foxes?! You bastard! I ought to skin you alive! You're one of those deserters who refused to join the war against Kerrat!"

Healer: "Calm down! If we don't stand together now, we'll all be lost! Your knowledge of history is admirable, lieutenant, but you don't seem to know the whole story. We deserted only because we saw the bigger threat: the undead. If it wasn't for our efforts, their horde would have become during that war. Now, against this new storm, we'll try to clear our name - even though we believe we've done nothing wrong."

Image

Lieutenant: "Ok, I will trust you... for now. The truth behind your words will reveal itself later."

Healer: "A wise decision. The Bulls are approaching your border. It's all just beginning."

Image

Conclusion: not a total defeat for the undead strike force because they managed to do a decent amount of damage to the armoury, but with all of their enemies dead and a decent number of survivors the Urban Guard is of course more victorious. The next battle should be bigger.

Great stuff but I was going to use the two street sweepers daunted by the wreckage gag at the end of my battle report. Damn!

shh... we used this attack as a distraction to set a secret spy in there to record their movements. we evil people have very advanced technology.

I suppose it's where I landed the kamikaze's head when it blew through the wall. Things tend to shift now and then. I like the explanation lrdofbricks came up with better though :)

@ Warhead: Damn Timmies! Even for that one time CrapSquad gets a chance to leave the box they have to ruin everything don't they?

Harrumph! Bastards!

Um, the photo of the "friends" holding hands is a bit scary soppy intimate don't you think?!? I mean, get a room already. Without the text you might get the wrong idea.

That depends on how you look at it, if Lego was more detailed you'd have probably seen the armour ghost crushing the guard's fingers during the handshake :)

Oooh, a forum battle with a cool plot! Awesome.

I like the scenery, too. Overall well done.

I'll need to look into participating in more of your Forum Battle, Bragallot. :)

Ty Olonthothor, great to hear people like it.

As for participants, it just depends on who's fastest. I'll try to work out scenarios with enough participating factions tho.

lrdofbricks I admire your perseverance despite your lack of luck in my battles so far :D
