Knights of Kerrat

Image

Garth: "Whoever they are, they're hostile. Sound the charge."

Wrynn: "Alright sir. For Kerrat!"

Garth: Dang I was gonna say that. "And... carrots!"

Garth and Wrynn sounded the charge, the more experienced Wrynn putting a little more confidence in his men than his younger commander.

Image

Though outnumbered, they charged under a hail of throwing axes and javelins. (the water demons were told to use everything they had, so they used their reactions from last turn as well)

Image

The Cleaver squad managed to cut down one of the tough heavy axemen, but Fishstache responded in kind and took one of their heads. (Wrynn didn't attack him because he's just a semi-hero, and those can't take an action alongside their feat)

Image

The crossbowmen joined the charge and fired while running.

Image

Nailing a swordsman.

Image

The cunning Lancier lieutenant managed to charge past the defenders and spear a crossbowman.

Image

One of the Lanciers got unlucky and was killed by the javelins, as well as his horse.

Image

But the other two still managed to run through the spearman and hurt the Technoviking, the water demon's flagbearer.

Image

Garth's winged horse leapt into the fray, over the heads of the stronger melee and into the pack of weaker ranged troops, allowing the commander to spear a crossbowman through the head.

Image

The Purple Mage tried to freeze another part of the river, but it failed horribly and put out the fiery wings of the horse instead!

Bull Tribes

Image

The Bull army crept forward, retaining information behind the phalanx. (you'll just have to imagine they're about mid-waist into the water).

Image

The Furbeasts threw their weapons as the axemen jumped into the river, killing three. Most were innacurate or fell on the Bull's shields, but one was powerful enough to plow through two, only coming to a stop when it hit the chieftain's armour.

Image

Inspired by the wild screaming of an angry icon (damnit I lost the pic!) the crossbowmen shot down two of the swordsmen...

Image

A pup and a regular Furbeast also died.

Water Demons

The battle rages on.

Image

After the initial clash, the water demons began to strike back once more.

Image

Fishstache and a heavy axeman assaulted Wrynn.

Image

Officer Blackpants lead his Swordmasters over the river to attack the Lanciers. However, they'd have to kill the horses first as their weapons didn't reach far enough yet.

Image

Fat Olaf, Fishstache's son, joined in with the rest of the swordsmen for a combined attack on the Cleavers.

Image

Crossbowmen had to use their ranged weapons as random objects in CC, which kind of sucked.

Image

Berserkers rushed the surrounded Garth to give the ranged troops the support they'd need. However not all of them would be able to attack simultaneously.

Image

Despite a crit fail on Fat Olaf's behalf two more Cleavers were killed. The Sergeant's counter slew another swordsman in response.

Image

There was an awful lot of damage in Fishstache's strike, and it killed Lord Wrynn outright, the warlord's sword ripping through his dragon shield like it was made of paper. The heavy axeman, in his fury, accidentally hit his boss on the head, but he didn't seem much bothered by it. (the attack more than doubled Wrynn's armour, which is why he lost both his HP)

Image

Swordmasters, under the invigorating guidance of Blackpants, started a frenzy with their swords.

Image

Their ability is that they can keep attacking as long as they killed, so after dealing with the horses they rushed upon the now dismounted Lanciers, who did their best to prepare themselves. What would it take to stop their rampage?

Image

Two very low damage rolls did the trick, and the sword frenzy was ended. The lanciers jabbed their weapons past their faces, missing.

Image

Most of the troops swarming Garth messed up, allowing him to return an axe thrower to the deep.

Image

The lieutenant speared another crossbowman, laughing at their attempts to pummel him to death with their ranged weapons.

Image

Garth had less reason to smile though: the berserkers cut his horse to shreds. In the distance, Fishstache decided it was time to do away with the troublesome ice.

Image

It shattered in a bright explosion, but didn't quite have the effect he wanted. The explosion dealt a lot of damage, but luckily the dead horse absorbed some of the damage. As the creature's remnants splattered against the surrounding warriors, so did shards of ice that came through, killing four and thus evening the odds again.

Image

Spear throwers aimed at the lieutenant, but failed to kill him.

Undead Vanguard

Image

The skeletons mindlessly attacked the axemen on the right wing, but the two smaller squads stood together as one and repelled their attacks, but didn't manage to hurt the skeletons in response. The axemen chieftain was too far out to be of any use.

Image

And he wouldn't get the chance again either. The two Bitchy Witches fragged him outright.

Image

I said: ARISE!!

Image

This time the necromancess didn't fail: the chieftain, now zombified, rose once more. A dread look in his eyes, he turned on his own axemen.

Image

The ranged skeletons let a rain of arrows descend on the allied forces, but through the haze, they failed to hit everything.

Dwellers

Image

The giant turned his back on the approaching phalanx! Was he shirking off?!

Image

No, he instead rushed the approaching zombie phalanx, both maces ready to crush their weak heads. Spears were lowered silently in response as he approached and the zombies braced themselves.

Image

The giant's massive body and maces clashed against their oversized shields but the formation held. The undead's clumsy counterattacks never bothered the giant.

Image

The Healer attempted to bring a deceased Wolfpack Ranger back to life, but his spell backfired horribly and exploded the corpse, making him unsalvageable.

Image

Kaadus rushed in to fire along, but the only casualty was a Bull crossbowman that got a taste of Miranda's crossbow. Blood spewed from his throat like water from a fountain.

Imperials

Image

The swordsmen, subjected to heavy fire, fell back and turned to defend against whichever of the undead or the Bulls would make it to them first.

Image

Running closer to the cavalry, Sharlena channelled another spell that was again greatly amplified by the Purple Mage.

Image

The undead looked pretty confused.

Image

The Bitchy Witches started bitching at each other as the phalanx lost cohesion.

Image

Hmm... Where do we know this from?

Image

Cannonfire tore up three members of the central phalanx. You lucky gunner bastards!

Image

The halberdiers outnumbered the axemen on the left flank and wiped them out.

Image

The elite swordsmen chose to cover the flank from the threat approaching them, only to see both sides were suffering heavy losses in their fight.

Image

An icon didn't seem too happy when the Starcape's shot charred his horns, but it once again did no damage.

Garth's alive though, he just got knocked back. And lrdofbricks lost about twice as much men as you did, though it indeed sucks to lose Wrynn so soon.

Yeah, but he has twice as many people as me, and he's not even who I'm supposed to be fighting.

LRD do you want to ally? We should probably end this stupid fight before we both are totally decimated.

That sounds ominous...

This actually worked out pretty well. Give me a bit and I'll post orders.

No casualties so far, you may not harm the undead!

Casualties? Losses should even be 'gains' with you right now ;)

@ Warhead yeah I like my characters as well, but my little story will end damn quickly if they all kill each other. Ah well, at least it'll have a good ending then :)
