Its been a few months since I have posted of this page and I am updating you on my army so far.
I have got around 12 Lego SPYRIUS mini figures which need customising.
4 elite soldiers ( i ahvn't realy decided what im doing with them yet)
and 1 assault car
I am going by the theme of HALO and i have just made a drop pod which I might use in the army.

That would certainly be true with most other systems but I don't think that's so much of an issue in Brikwars. The system (IMO) copes well with differing tech levels and I've played and seen many games where all sorts of Space and Medieval factions etc are used. I think you need only account for the advantage of having a higher tech by having less units than your opponent or some magic abilities or whatever a devious and creative mind can think of to redress the issue, just so there is some pretence of balance... another gamer term that Brikwarriors are encouraged to ignore.another thing I noticed nobody else mentioned, but if your planning on joining some brick wars games, it also helps if you find out what kind of armies the other players are playing, since it doesn't help building a space army if everyone is playing Medieval armies or such.

I have to agree with Warhead. In most War Games the vast tech difference would be a major issue. In BrikWars it would be a minor issue at worst. The structure of the game along with the rules such as the Fudge Rule make this a game where tech is just one factor.
In the end, I also will point out that with only a few moments and the right bricks I could give my Orc Horde Rifles or swords and yet be the same minififgs. Jedi with Swords or Knights with Blasters. It is all good.
EDIT: Fixed spelling error, but I do also believe BrikWars and a Pint could go well together.

Brikwars isn't suppose to be about perfectly themed armies against each other. It's about the CHAOS of life & battle.... Anyone should be able to play against anybody with any army they want, may it be 100's of battle suits to a stack of 4x4 brick units with a 2x1 brick gun and be proud of it. It's all about the beauty of diversity here, that's why I like this place more than any of the other brick sites, those other places seemed like they were for brick masters to show off their stuff and not for everyday brick lovers. That kid with different themed army should be proud that his army was different. That's where the creativity/fun comes into play too. They could've been a lost legion pulled into a wormhole. Or a blessed army that was given immortal life and increased durability to be only killed in hand to hand combat. Or have fun with strategy and have him holed up in a building waiting for others to invade so they can stick them with their spears & swords. Or just do a mad rush at their leader for a pyrrhic victory. It was nice of you to let him use you figs and all, but you should’ve pumped him up about his army too…
When the hell did I get all preachy all of a sudden?

Relax Ross, the guys just a table top rules and regs sort of guy. No harm no foul. It may be he'll come to his senses or not, only time will tell.
@Asterios: If I may make a suggestion, most of these guys do not take kindly to being talked to by anyone that even remotely acts like an adult, unless they are somehow mentally deformed and adolescent like they are. When in a wolf pack, act like a wolf.

Having returned from my inactiveness I feel the need to contribute. Generally before you start your army you should look at what you have. You should use what you have (and order bricklink parts accordingly), for example, I have lots of "adventurers" themed characters, thus giving me a decent base for my steampunk army. Also, you should choose a theme that you like rather than just picking a orange themed army of mars mission figs. Because that would be shit.

Since we are totally derailing this guys original post.... I'll join in!
I thought QuikWars was just about right for a 'lite' version of BrikWars. Simple yet robust with lots of room for imagination and fun. My son and I really like playing it. It's very tolerant of different technologies and army types... ranged is ranged... melee is melee... don't mater if you got a broadsword or a lightsaber.... elven bow or fully automatic grenade launcher.... dirt bike or horse.... it's all handled the same and handled with ease.
I'm of the old, narrow, feeble mindset "make army match.... must have balanced forces... unga bunga..." but my son brings the weirdest shit to the table... and it's great! I find myself biting my tongue because I want him to just build what he wants and have fun with it.
Like just this last week or so.... I've been building a small castle themed fortification and army. They all have swords, shields, and the fort is very brick & wood style. I look across the table and he's got orcs with lazer guns, ogres with chains, and some space guy with a crazy jet-pack-thingy with an elven bow clipped to it.
Celebrate the madness!

Haha true... now wanting to make some kind of medieval garbage disposal gear spinning toothy people eating tank... any pointers/examples from anyone who's done this before?Asterios wrote:Bah I believe in numerical superiority, he who has the most figs wins
As far as starting out an army, I benefited a lot from bricklink. Look for torsos and fill them in with limbs over time. Sometimes you can catch awesome deals. Like orc torsos are pretty cheap right now.
