Hellian Minotaur Heavy Tank

Post by Gorthaff » Mon Mar 02, 2015 5:00 pm

Having observed the propaganda materials and battle footage captured from the superpowers the alliance with Bavaria has pitted Hellios against, the Department of Defence noticed a distinct lack of designs, that can stand their ground in a straight up tank battle. While the Armadillo is easily on par with most MBTs and the Mantis drones can outmanouver heavier tanks, the lack of ability to mass produce them on a scale rivaling the superpowers called for an alternative.

That alternative is the massive 13" Minotaur. Its Mk VIII heavy müon lance is a weapon normally mounted on space cruisers, and it can gut most tanks with a single solid hit. The heavy armour and plethora of lighter point defense weapons ensure that the tank is safe from infantry or air-based strikes, whilr it can defeat any traditional main battletank even if outnumbered three to one. This allows the Minotaurs to be repeaired rather than rebuilt, thus freeing up cruical industrial capacity.

I really like the shape you made with those plates on the sides. Good job!

And your white balance is fixed, so yellow actually looks yellow, hooray!

Tough looking despite the not so tough colour scheme. Good stuff.

Yup, I've run out of white plates, that's why the skirt thing is grey.

As Bluefog said, it looks pretty tough, so points on that score, but I think you could work on the application of yellow. At present if you look hard it seems a little like yellow plates have been put on randomly, rather than forming some nice colour-blocks. It certainly has potential though, I find tinkering with things over time helps a lot.

That one looks pretty cool. I could imagine that thing, smashing smaller tanks beneath it's huge wheels. Does it have some kind of transport capability, btw?

It doesn't have an interior yet, but I'm planning on having a crew of six and room left for at least four more.

You have your own original style for bulding vehichles. The look of the wheels look interesting but nowadays I like the treaded tanks more then the wheeled ones. In case of heavy/big tanks wheels and treads should be protected with armor plates if possible otherwise tanks are vulnerable against attacks focused on the wheels/treads and they might become immobile easily.

Lack of plates and lack of threads on my end should b accountable for that. Origially I wanted to make a skirt, so they looked like threads, but I ran out.
