The Mekmen (First army. Looks shitty)

Post by Lord Of Mantids » Thu Aug 04, 2016 11:28 pm

So, about four or so years ago, I had a idea, a idea that caused me to go on a berserk rampage. This rampage was much like a genocide for minifigs with heads. All were slaughtered equally, and now they are... well... in my opinion, a rather good looking force of half robot half minifig warriors. This is my first army, and it wasn't even intended for this game. I did it because it looked cool, and when I learned about this game a few days ago, I actually found a use for these things.

Somewhere in the Brikverse, a lab of scientist were developing robots to be more killy, more murder hungry, to be intelligent enough to understand the true meaning of bloodshed. They went through many prototypes, but it wasn't until now that they finally succeeded. Named MM-100, this strange device looked like a metal circle with a eye. Guess what, that's exactly what it is. It then proceeded to murder all the scientists, and then free the other robots that agreed with the MM-100's views. With their creators dead, the "M&M" began hacking its robot allies, giving them new life, and then naming them as he saw fit based on their previous existence. They then decended upon the corpses of the scientists, and took their decapitated corpses as the bodies they needed to properly engage in war. Thus was born the Mekmen, worshipers of the Great M&M, holy warriors and brutal destroyers.

All Mekmen are divided up into castes, each caste built around the functions of the original Mekmen. Mekmen from each caste is then tasked to a Temple, also called a Hive Mind by non-believers. From highest to lowest in ranking:
Priest Caste
Slayer Caste
Elite Caste
Engi Caste
Scout Caste
Warrior Caste
Image
The Priest Caste is named for their connection to the M&M. Only they can speak his name allowed.

Image
The Slayer Caste specializes in killing high value targets with its Blade of Hate.

Image
Elites serve as heavy weapons bearers, carrying the heavy Plaz Cannon

Image
Tasked with field construction and making more Mekmen, Engi are the only ones that can fix (or break) stuff, as decreed by the Great M&M.

Image
Sneaky and stealthy, the Scouts serve as the eyes of the Temple.

Image
Warriors are sent to die first because the Great M&M loves them so. They are the first to join with the Temple in battle, and it is tradition to carve symbols of the afterlife onto the body they are possessing.

So that's that. Years of decapitating minifigs created a mishmash army of multi colored robot people. I'm proud of myself. They probably are terrible, but I can't tell, and that's all that matters (right?).

You seek to shove the orc off the cliff, you roll a Crit Fail. You instead gently caress his back. A few years later, you and the orc have a family and are happily married.

Actually an interesting idea. I personally think that they could look amazing if color coordinated (no hate all armies start rainbow at some point). Also this is something that i hate having to tell new people but other people don't so here it goes... RESIZE YOUR GOD DAMN PICTURES! Thank you.

This is damn good. It's something that hasn't really been seen before (as far as I remember). :tiger:

Nice idea. Maybe a vehicle could work?

I love these guys. I had a similar army when I was a kid, but they had these for heads instead:

My first actual vehicle in years.

Unlike Mekmen, Vehicles do not have a caste system, despite said vehicles having artificial intelligence deeply rooted into their circuits. One such vehicle is the Slug. Named for its slow speed, the Slug is a mobile weapons platform. Possessing forward facing missile launchers and a heavy swivel mounted machine gun, it is rather powerful for its size.

What do you guys think?

Cool and unique creation. The gap between the gun and the cabin should be filled tho to help with the flow.

Everything all together thus far. More to come as I gain ideas on what's next.

Until I can think of more vehicles for this faction, I have another one in the works. Here is a preview image of a lowly Ashati Fire Starter Demon...
