The Kingdom of Orlogrod

Image
The Kingdom of Orlogrod is one of the biggest military powers in the Azure Galaxy. Despite facing several internal and external crises at once, the Kingdom is determined to secure its position in the Purple Subsector.

Image
Being the bread and butter of the Orlogrodian Army, the Soldiers don advanced combat armour, allowing them to operate in nearly every climate. Each squad is led by a sergeant and equipped with up to two special weapons.

Image
Auxiliary Troopers are using less advanced combat gear and are usually used as town guards.

Image
However, parts of the auxiliaries also fight on horseback wielding powerful laser lances. These Uhlans make formidable scouts and fast attack units, even if their tactics may seem antiquated to some field commanders.

Image
In an effort to upgrade part of the auxiliary forces into motorized divisions, Orlogrodian engineers keep working on a new armoured bike, serving as a mobile weapons platform.

Image
The extensive presence of horses in the Orlogrodian army is not (just) due to budget cuts but also because of the century-old success of Orlogrodian cavalry units. The Armoured Companions are one of these units that still stand the test of time. Armed with energy hammers and power shields, they can make quick work out of bigger obstacles standing in the way of their fellow soldiers.

Image
The Winged Hussars are without a doubt among the most skilful horsemen in the Orlogrodian cavalry. Their lances offer additional range for charging attacks, while the wings on their back serve as additional power converters for both their armour and their weapons.

Image
Just the mere sight of the Royal Guards’ crimson armour can strike fear in the heart of even the bravest adversary. Extremely loyal towards the King of Orlogrod, these brutal elite warriors show no mercy when they slice up their foes with their halberds, given they weren’t roasted by the built-in flamethrowers beforehand.

Image
The Royal Guard Strike Force is deployed for more delicate operations, that don’t necessarily involve guarding the royal palace. Flying above the heads of their enemies, they thin out enemy lines with their grenade launchers before mowing down the leftovers with their pulse rifles.

Image
The Royal Guard employs its very own Hussar warbands equipped with flame lances. While undoubtedly skilled horsemen, the Royal Guard Hussars are mostly seen as rivals by ordinary Hussar warbands, who distance themselves from a lot of Royal Guard tactics.

Image
Field Commander Sergiusz Radziwiłł is a veteran of numerous wars and as such only lives for the heat of battle, even if it can make him difficult to work with. Only very few people know his age or have seen the face beneath his helmet. He rides to battle on a huge mechanical stead, while wielding a plasma gun and a barbed energy sword, dealing grievous wounds to his enemies.

Image
Kastellan Konrad Sierakowski is the highest-ranking member of the Royal Guard, answering to no one but the King of Orlogrod. As such he is generally seen as arrogant and uncooperative by regular army officers. In spite of that, he is nigh unmatched in horsemanship and is not afraid to take on any foe in a one-by-one fight, be it a tank or even a mech.

I love using those old UFO robot heads on more modern bodies like that.

Armed with a MedRay cannon and a BTC, the Combat Medic is an essential part of the Orlogrodian, healing fellow soldiers and putting them together should they miss one or two parts. Just don't ask them where they got their medical licence!

The physician and physicist Dr Dr Marian Wojda (AKA Dr Etanol) is one of the sharpest minds of Orlogrod, who is currently stuck putting together wounded soldiers at various field hospitals as academia turned out to be a rather unfulfilling and underpaid career path. With the recent discovery of a powerful fluid known as Maniac Beer however, he seeks to finally put his knowledge of physics to use in order to solve the biggest energy crisis that has befallen his home country. On the battlefield he wields the home-made Party Cannon to reinvigorate friendly troops or disrupt enemy ones.

Image
Creative minds of the Orlogrodian army are being assigned to the Pioneer companies, where they fulfil their tasks of setting up fortifications and repairing broken machinery in the most imaginative fashion imaginable. Their trusty fusion cutters serve both as a tool and a potent weapon, granting them some form of protection on the battlefield.

Image
Orlogrodian Field Commanders, while being respectable war veterans, still prefer to boss around lower ranking troops to feel something in their rather unfulfilling lives. Their higher rank does however grant them fancy toys such as phase sabres and plasma pistols.

Over the years, the Angel Hardsuit underwent numerous changes whilst performing the same role of infantry support. Its recent iteration, however, represents an improvement in nearly every regard: thicker armour plating, heavier weaponry, more intuitive controls and (most importantly) more pompous decorations are setting new standards for Orlogrodian engineering, phasing out long obsolete designs.

Image
While the shoulders of this prototype currently hold ornate wings, they may be upgraded to hold side weapons such as one-use missiles.

The Archangel Heavy Assault Mech was a staple of Orlogrodian engineering and served the Kingdom for almost a decade.

Image
In its place comes the Archangel RX. This reimagining of the iconic war machine not only impresses with its sheer size and pomp but also added additional armour plating to especially vulnerable mech components. Two shoulder-mounted shield generators also help soaking up the damage dealt to weak spots.

Image
Booster engines on its back wings and ankles allow for orbital deployment on top of enhanced manoeuvrability for the Archangel RX.

Image
The front wings, on the other hand, serve as a launch pad for missiles to clean up larger clusters of enemies.

Image
While the power sabre from the Archangel RX' predecessor is being passed on to its most recent iteration, the Super Heavy Laser Rifle receive an overhaul to take on bigger targets from afar.

Image
Royal Servants supposedly fulfil numerous administrative tasks which in practice all amount to pushing around serfs and making them bend to their own whims. While fighting is not something completely unheard off by Orlogrodian nobility, it is very unlikely that any of these pencil pushers ever as much as held a sword in their hands outside of ceremonial occasions.

Image
Paladins are Orlogrod's heavy troops tasked with providing firing support to ordinary riflemen. While laser cannons serve to suppress hostile infantry hordes, gauss cannons are best used against vehicles or other bigger targets.

Image
Hetman Ryszard Mazurek commands a seizable portion of the Orlogrodian Armed Forces, being only subordinate to Grand Hetman Radziwiłł and the King of Orlogrod himself. While other high ranking officers prefer to command their soldiers far away from the chaos of the frontline, Mazurek dons his custom Paladin armour and charges right into the fray leaving behind nothing but an ashen wasteland under the fire of his laser annihilator.

Prolly won't take one anytime soon as there are far too many vehicles that I need to rework and also a master thesis to write. It can be assumed that most of the old vehicles from the Poland days are still in use but outdated as all hell.
