[FF23] Duerer's Figbarf

Post by Duerer » Wed Feb 15, 2023 12:37 pm

20 years ago, six mighty heroes defeated an ancient evil on the island of Mantu Nura but have ever since disappeared without a trace. This led the Mantu Nurans to wonder whether the evil was truly defeated and if they were left to fend for themselves once again.

Image
Even before the disappearance of their own hero, the Ta’Nuran Flame Guard was among the most vigilant town guards on the island. Armed with a bident, a shield and a will of iron, this warrior is determined to take on any adversary.

Image
Members of the Ta’Nuran Ashen Guard are some of the fiercest warriors on the entire island of Mantu Nura having participated in countless battles of the 1000 Year War and most recently the Bug War. Their fire halberds also double as flame throwers allowing them to break any enemy formation.

Image
As a new threat looms over Mantu Nura, its inhabitants are more than determined to push back against the unknown aggressors.

Also new stuff for Orlogrod:
Image
Orlogrodian heavy infantry dons Paladin armour, which not only reinforces the wearers damage resistance but also enhances their physical abilities, as they carry heavy weaponry to the battlefield to provide additional firing support

Image
The most common weapons carried by Orlogrodian Paladins are Gauss Cannons (left) to fight off enemy armour and Laser Cannons (right) to fry entire platoons in mere seconds.

With the disappearance of the six Elemental Masters the Mantu Nurans knew that they had to rely on their own courage in the event of a new threat to the island. Now they are being put to the test with the sudden outbreak of unknown creatures threatening to lay waste upon everything on their path.

Image
Image
As the captain of the Ta'Nuran Guard, Jaroc is more than determined to protect his people, even more so with the disappearance of the Master of Fire. Ever since, he has been the main driving force behind the expansion of the guard and its armament. This is apparent on Jaroc himself for he traded his old bident for a lava halberd, which can slice whole rocks like a hot knife through butter. Said old bident now serves as a standard for other Ta'nuran warriors to rally around.

Compared to the other Elders of Mantu Nura, Vaata is quick to jump into action if a threat approaches his people, even if it means to put himself into danger. Just like the other elders, he possesses limited elemental powers that may not necessarily rival the ones of the Elemental Masters that appeared 20 years ago but enough to aid other Ta'nurans in times of need. Additionally, like the other Elders and Masters, Vaata can tap onto his mask's power to temporarily turn invisible.

Image
To ensure the survival of the king's footsoldiers, the Orlogrodian Combat Medic is being deployed with an array of tools at her disposal. A shoulder-mounted MedRay cannon can syphon life force from opponents which in return can be used to heal the wound of her fallen comrades provided they are still alive. In addition, stimpacks can enhance the combat performance of any given soldier while her medical saw can shred any of her victims into pulp cut a path towards any patient in need of her services.

"No, I haven't ever been sued for malpractice. Why do you ask?"

Le'Nuran legends speak on a cryptid creature living in the swamps known as Myrdak, which does not differ much from your average Mantu Nuran and yet it sports prominent amphibian traits such as gills all over its body and a shade of green not seen among other Mantu Nurans. Was it once an ordinary Mantu Nuran turned into this sorry state? Is it but one member of a whole subspecies of Mantu Nuran swamp dwellers? Does it feel or think much like other Mantu Nurans do? Questions upon questions that my never find a clear answer...
