(Started up as an attempt at a "Judge Dredd" themed army, but those galactic marines looked just too cool.)
Peacekeepers by d b, on FlickrPeacekeepers:The Peacekeepers are a reminder of a more civilized time, a time of shiny gold badges, and standard issue aviators that help you look super cool when shooting "bad guys". With the new generation raised on Terran propaganda and old cop movies, they see themselves as a cut above the rest of the population, and it shows in their community outreach (or lack of). They are also considered by every other department to be a complete joke.
Peacekeeper Captain by d b, on FlickrPeacekeeper Captain:A grumpy old goat that's 2 weeks away from retirement. His seniority has also provided him the benefit of being able to bring his own weapons to work. His bosses consider it cheaper than a pension.
Peacekeeper Squad by d b, on FlickrPeacekeeper Squad:While not much of a threat on their own, they can become a hassle when they group up. Not that it makes their aim any better, rather it makes it more likely that more of them will go down in the line of duty. This is a bad thing, as that's when they can call to escalate the situation.
Terran Prosecutors by d b, on FlickrTerran Prosecutors: Deployed when the masses start to get organized and dangerous, or when invading a sector that long ago belonged to the Terran Empire. Often for simplicity these things are considered one and the same.
Now that the Terran Empire is back on it's feet and finally united, they have a huge pool of stockpiled gear to pull from! This means their soldiers come absolutely decked out in gear, with years of battle experience to pull from. A formidable fighting force for sure.
The Lead Prosecutor by d b, on FlickrThe Lead Prosecutor: In charge of the troops afforded to them, Lead Prosecutors are chosen for their skill, tactics and ability to yell really really loudly. Due to their elevate position they are afforded custom caliber rail pistols and high-frequency swords, and a sweet trench coat.
The Prosecution by d b, on FlickrThe Prosecution: They never rest.
Terran Interplanetary Shock Troopers by d b, on FlickrTerran Interplanetary Shock Troopers: The shock troops of the Terran Empire, these boys come with more armor than most people could stand up in. To solve this problem Terran scientists decided to dose members with a cocktail of stem cells, growth hormones and space bull testosterone. The result are the Terran Interplanetary Shock Troops that would fill the role once played by the military's marine units. Due to their revolutionary suits, they can even operate in the vacuum of space. I just wish there was a better name for them.
The Terran Army by d b, on FlickrThe Terran Army:Ready to reclaim whats yours, oops I mean theirs.
Neo-Imperials- Imagine a Star Wars Imperial officer who interned on a Warhammer 40k World, then started their own army.
(this may have been the most fun i had creating an army, stay tuned for vehicles.)
The Core by d b, on FlickrThe Core: Anyone can join the Neo-Imperials! And that first step is recruitment into the core. The Neo-Imperial's main infantry regiment may not be glamorous, but you do get provided above average armor, accurate weapons and free sh**ty gray cloaks.
Neo-Imperial Captains by d b, on FlickrNeo-Imperial Sergents: If you survive in The Core for a few years and can still pass an IQ test, you get promoted to Sergent. Provided fully pressurized and buttplugged suits, along with armor piercing smgs and chain swords this is a highly coveted position. Luckily due to the weapons being close range and those bright yellow pauldrons, being promoted to this station is a very obtainable goal.
Neo-Imperial Captain by d b, on FlickrNeo-Imperial Captain: Wearing armor constructed from the kits of hundreds of fallen brothers, Captains are a sight to behold. Wielding equipment both ancient and effective, this Captain has been cyborgneticly enhanced to crush the enemies of the Neo-Imperials no matter the cost. He regularly declines promotions to stay at the front of the battlefield, where he belongs.
Neo-Imperial Inquisitors by d b, on FlickrNeo-Imperial Inquisitors:The door-kicking buttkickers that are employed to keep all descent from occupied sectors nonexistent. Recruited from a pool of decorated Core Captains, these soldiers are then cyberneticly upgraded to further their combat effectiveness.

The Brown Coat Milita: An "army" of ragtag defenders led by an ex cop with a heart of gold
Brown Coat Scouts by d b, on FlickrBrown Coat Scouts: A lightning pop-up strike force (due to minimal equipment) that gives underdogs like the Brown Coat's an edge in battle!
Rowdy Over-Qualified Officer by d b, on FlickrRowdy Over-Qualified Officer: The loud talking, two gun slinging Sergent of the scouts. Constantly has a buzz on yet can shot faster and straight with 2 pistols than most can sober with a auto-sniper. His wild nature has prevented him from promotion ATLEAST 15 times. He likes to count.
The Regulars by d b, on FlickrThe Regulars: The Brown Coat Militia's main fighting force. Made up of a combination of regular recruits aged 17-45. Ol Reg's make up for their lack of heavy armor and fashion sense with heart, and a blast proof jacket.
Captain Of The Regulars by d b, on FlickrCaptain Of The Regulars:Ex-soldier of a nation he won't mention, this man is second in command of The Brown Coat Militia and first into the fray.

Commander Jekart by d b, on FlickrCommander Jekart:Commander Jekart of The Brown Coat Militia. Once a local law enforcement officer, he turned to the needs of the people after the crimes of the local governing body could no longer be ignored. Voted in unanimously by his people he is now under-gunned, over budget and in charge of the whole mess.

The Cult : A religiously driven military movement whose motives are unclear.
(A faction I desperately need to world build for)
Cult Gangers by d b, on FlickrCult Gangers: A mix of those with little left to lose and even less skill, along with those who are professional, equip, and practiced killers. They serve as The Cult's sleeper agents, and street level enforcers. Most the make up this category care little for the religion itself, but rather bask in the authority and connections it brings to them.
Cult Commando by d b, on FlickrCult Commando: He leads the gangers with loud voice and a heavy hand. This Cultist Commando is an ex Neo-Imperial Inquisitor, if you couldn't tell by his armament and talents, he will remind you endlessly given the chance.
The Cults Street Presence by d b, on FlickrThe Cults Street Presence: These dirty boys often serve as a kill squad to any opposing gang/religion.
Cult Soldiers by d b, on FlickrCult Soldiers:The Cult Soldiers are comprised of those too cruel, unstable or smelly to hack it anywhere else. They come for the comradery, they stay for the skull print swag.
Cult Soldier Cyborgs by d b, on FlickrCult Soldier Cyborgs: The Cult promises many things to bring in new members. Money, power, a way to fix yourself. These mechanized Cultists are a result of that last wish. The dumb, limited and ugly all have a place to die for The Cult!
Cult Kill Squad by d b, on FlickrCult Kill Squad: Black robes and silenced fully automatic gunfire, These are the hallmark of The Cult's Kill Squads. Utilized for targets too well guarded for and average Cult Ganger
Cult Seers by d b, on FlickrCult Crusaders: The Cult Crusaders are original members of The Cult who survived the early days and secured favor with the current leader. Battle-hardened and ruthless, these hard line fanatics will do anything for The Cult.
Cult High Class Mercenary by d b, on FlickrCult High Class Mercenary: A rogue Mega Corp Elite that against all condition and training, was convinced to not only join The Cult but become it's right hand man. In charge of training and tactics, this man is what change the cult into The Cult.
Cult Leader by d b, on FlickrCult Leader:Beautiful, charismatic, terrifying. The leader of The Cult is really an ex D-list celebrity who's mindfulness group got way out of hand. Armed with ears of the masses, wealth of success and really expensive gold-plated weapons this young lady is on the warpath, and somehow winning.
Cult Army by d b, on FlickrCult Army: Here by popular demand!
Zaz's Mercs: Is a mix of gang members, ex-soldiers in need of cash, and elite warriors. Put together by the crazy unorthodox genius of Zaz, he's taken himself and his crew from a bunch of small time space pirates to the "totally legit" business of soldiers for hire. Not the most glamorous group but they have been slowly climbing ever upward.
The Boys by d b, on FlickrThe Boys: The Boys are a rowdy bunch of mercs that have been around since the groups inception. As a reward for their continued loyalty and survival they are not restricted by equipment, or behavioral standards the rest of the group is. Skilled warriors all, what they lack in uniformity they make up for in unorthodox successes, if that's what you want to call winning a battle against triple odds while completely cross-faded.
Zaz's Troopers by d b, on FlickrZaz's Troopers: The backbone of this mercenary group is comprised of it's troopers. Zaz is very proud of his personal standing army, equipped with only recently outdated blast-carbines, and matching body and head armor (Zaz added the shoulder spikes for sheer intimidation). Ex-soldiers all, these Troopers are well trained and supplied, at least by merc standards, they make use of this advantageto fulfill their groups tenet of "loot is first come first serve!"
The Professionals by d b, on FlickrThe Professionals: Zaz while a bit on the cheap side, knows when and where to spend his money. In this case it was poaching highly decorated soldiers from military's galaxy wide. While expensive, they more than make up for it by being incredible at what they do, and giving the rest of the group something to aspire to.
Snipers by d b, on FlickrThe Snipers:Similar to the professionals, this sniper pair was bought off a local Megacorp executive who did not need any evidence laying around. Zaz jumped at the opportunity to fix that issue, and was rightly rewarded for his troubles.
Zaz the "Merchant" by d b, on FlickrZaz the "Merchant": don't let Zaz fool you about his past, he started out as a petty space pirate with a few friends (The Boys) robbing local inbound shipments. Zaz quickly discovered the profit in selling the stolen goods back to their intended recipient at a markup while posing as a legitimate business that specializes in "product retrieval". Years and a small fortune later, Zaz has claimed to have gone "actual legit, for real", now specializing in contracting out his protective services for whoever is able to pay. Armed with his heavy blaster pistol, and all the exotic weaponry he hides on his body, there's a reason he's never lost a fight.

The Private Military Company: Like mercenaries, but corporate!
The "Red Eyes" by d b, on FlickrThe "Red Eyes": The PMC's standard infantry unit, decked out in top of the line pressurized power armor and the newest line of plasma repeaters, the PMC's baseline units often rival and surpass the elite units of regular armys. Only the PMC 's relatively small size keeps them from being a threat to world governments.
Contractors by d b, on FlickrContractors: A military company hiring outside mercs? Turns out when you're the best in the business you can afford the best, a squad of heavily armored jetpack wearing Space Spartans! A serious contender for some of the best fighters in the galaxy.
Robo Body Guard by d b, on FlickrRobo Body Guard: The boss thought it would be cool to have a robot body guard with an oversized gun and a sword arm. Turns out it was far too expensive of a choice for him to ever consider not cool.
