Thank you! I love customizing figs the most. I'm also at a place in life where I really only have access to my minfigures... the rest of the collection is packed away until I move in July.

So, the Magikstrate has Red/Tan as it's vehicle colur scheme, right?

Btw, the mechs look really cool. I approve to the use of BT Elements.

The color scheme is just red and neutrals. Mostly white when I can, but these were just the parts I had available

Really nice vehicles, guys go check the OP if you think you can't be arsed. The colour blocking is good but not perfect, so that's where I'd add my constructive criticism. The shape of the Oppressor tank is funky, and the front of the monarch with those 3 staggered cannons is cool too.

Indeed, I especially like the streamlining on the Mechs, now they have LBT Claws to contrast their more solid red color schemes.

It's fun to make the worlds connect, plus I loved him when you made him. If you're going to be a magikal faction you need at least 1 long-bearded wizard!

Could you give more specifics? I'm always looking to improve.

Yeah, the Opressor was difficult to get the room for the interior as well as putting the tracks on. It came out a bit blocky, but it is unlike many tanks I've seen here which is nice! I may try to tinker with it in the future.

Okay, I'm going to be brutally honest with you

I fucking love this faction. The colours are done quite well, the figs are gorgeous, and the vehicles are, for the most part, really good. But you know what isn't good?

The oppressor and the Mantis.

Because they're great. The shaping of the oppressor is sweet(although the blocking could use some work), and the Mantis is downright perfect.

Honestly, if I didn't already have a white and red faction of build a detachment of these guys in a heartbeat.

Wow, thanks sigfig!!! If you ever amass some peach clone troopers, by all means be my guest! Feel free to use them in any of your stories, I'd be honored!

This army is becomming one of my favourites. I like the colors ofcourse but aside the colors the background story and the ship is great too :)

Edit: I also want to add that I really like your presentation as well. The spoiler tab of the forum works really well for giving details of particular forces.
Besides Imperial Magikstrate has everything a good faction should have, An original flag, a good background story, uniform colored forces with different divisions, cool heroes!

This army deserves the seal of approval of the Imperial Bureau of Inspection and Certification.

I should say firstly that I'm no expert, and secondly that that you're pretty nearly there, here we go!

Essentially the idea of colour blocking is to have nice patches of colour; rather than a hodgepodge like you're not thinking about what colour the plates are when you put them on (most of us are well past that, your stuff certainly is). White would seem to be your "base" colour; we can imagine that in their workshops you minifigs give the machines a nice white basecoat, and then add patches of red for artistic flair or whatever.

Image

Here you've obviously thought about how you're going to apply your red, as it's in nice symmetrical patterns. However where you might get the effect of blocks of colour where an armoured plate has been painted red or some particular surface is demarcated in a red colour, here you have a slight raspberry-ripple effect. (It doesn't look bad, just quirky.)

If you're going to do patterns then make it defined; Chequered squares of different colours would look pretty awesome on a spaceship (although tbh I think colour blocking on spaceships is going to be hard to manage unless you have a large array of parts in your colours, so you've got to be crafty I guess). The red should be there to highlight stuff and make nice boundaries between different regions of the machine (Like here where the upper hull/superstructure bodywork is tan all over, and the running gear bit is grey, with some slight overlaps to help it gel together.)

Image

Like I said you're almost there really, just when you're deciding what's going to be red, remember that you're using the red to highlight something, so you wan to choose a nice patch of the machine to pick out, and try to make sure it's not just a token coloured plate (it also helps if the coloured bit sits flush with the rest of the build, unless you're going for the "armoured shell" look in which case it helps if it feels layered).
:rtfm:

There we go, hope I'm being somewhat helpful, if I'm not then just keep building and you'll get there before too long.
