Re: Tairin Federation
Why don't you just build something? I just don't understand. I love ripping apart my set and building something new. I mean even if it sucks, and I wouldn't say I'm really that good at building, I'm average, but it's so much fun. Y'know? Making something that isn't based on anything and is completely from imagination/inspiration from here (because there are so many good builders on this site) is so satisfying. I'm just talking about my stand point however. If you wanna have stock sets I'd still play BW against you, I don't care, I just would never be satisfied, y'know? Half the fun of lego is rebuilding stuff over and over until you get something you really like, and even then it's all subject to change, it's lego, it's for building and taking apart and building again. That's its function.
Maybe I'm crazy.
I know you didn't appreciate my feedback in the past, which is fine, but it won't stop me from posting this now.

Because I wanted to quickly build a uniform army that centers around Mecha!Bluefog wrote:Why don't you just build something? I just don't understand. I love ripping apart my set and building something new.
Building for the sake of building is great and all, but it's not what I'm trying to do here.
Also, updated the first post:

Re: Tairin Federation
Lego sets (from different themes) aren't designed to be coherent, probably the opposite to ensure a nice variety... so I'm afraid the usage of sets and sets only means that it looks more like part of a lego store came to life than that this is a faction from outer space which had its vehicles designed by their toiling, hard working mechanix in some underground military sweatshops. Whilst a lack of "flow" or a "gelling" issue wouldn't worry people too much and we'd just smile sweetly, you have incurred the wrath of the forums by refusing to ditch the instructions. (No, the rocket rack doesn't count any more, sry.)
You're double-damned here because you're going to have a hard time amalgamating a faction from ninjago, arctic explorers and starwars sets; and also in that if there are any flaws, people are going to instantly want to call you out.

So sets made with a system renowned for it's modularity and interchangeability can't be used together?ikensall wrote:Lego sets (from different themes) aren't designed to be coherent, probably the opposite to ensure a nice variety...
Well if you hadn't noticed from the descriptions, I've pretty strongly implied the Tairin Federation doesn't design most of it's equipment...ikensall wrote:this is a faction from outer space which had its vehicles designed by their toiling, hard working mechanix in some underground military sweatshops.
No, I've incurred the wrath of autistic artistic elitist who are so insecure with their creativity they need to constantly berate people unwilling to scrape perfectly good existing models.ikensall wrote:you have incurred the wrath of the forums by refusing to ditch the instructions. I haven't said anything in this thread yet.

Re: Tairin Federation
I'd rather see an army of creations like your forum picture than a bunch of barely modified lego sets.

Re: Tairin Federation
I have opted to make an alternate approach now the beagle of wideness has returned. Rather than attempt to [ATTEMPT TO SOLVE WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS], I am now opting to teach everyone around him in the hopes we can overcome his . . . [WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS]
This man does not learn, nor does he adapt, he has zero creativity, and little to no will of his own beyond his ability to argue with people over the internet over his lack of will. He is not going to learn. Take it from me, I know. He has barely begun to adapt through the photography displayed in this thread. All you will ever manage to get out of him is more excuses, complaints and him fighting back against you while the entire group attempts to wrap their heads around why he is such an assbucket.
He is one of those people that the media portrays as a NEET. I myself fought with this concept - that such a being actually exists - but here he is. He does not amount to anything, and has no will to do so either. Try as you might to hammer creativity into him with a goddamn sledgehammer, he will not adapt, he'll only fight you harder. He'l never work. Never have a family. Never expand or even try to test his limits and will most likely spend the rest of his days in some form of digital conflict with someone or other, whether it be here, facebook, 4chan, reddit - wherever.
Nice photo's by the way beagle - shame you can't [ATTEMPT TO SOLVE WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS] to prove us wrong.

For the love of god I was just going for a passing "Y U no understand?" post but now I have to reply. Damnit I thought I wasn't being rude enough to get you to go all rayhawkesque quote analysis on it.
LET'S FIIIGHT!!
[ATTEMPT TO SOLVE WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS]
Needless to say you're not very receptive to [ATTEMPTS TO SOLVE WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS]. So we just slide out of "[ATTEMPT TO SOLVE WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS]" mode into "[ATTEMPT TO SOLVE WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS]".
Tzan, get out before his claims are validated!
LET'S FIIIGHT!!
The interchangeability only comes into play when you take it apart. Interchangeable as in, you could take a mech, break it up and make a spider-tank. They can be used together, but you're going to have to [ATTEMPT TO SOLVE WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS]... nevermind.Whiteagle wrote:So sets made with a system renowned for it's modularity and interchangeability can't be used together?
Now, I shall attempt to adress the high degree of booty bothered directed at you. (Aside from being told by Scythe that we should despise you.)Whiteagle wrote:No, I've incurred the wrath of autistic artistic elitist who are so insecure with their creativity they need to constantly berate people

Problem is that we come here to see MOCs, not [WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS], maybe if it's a battle report or a forum battle it would be different, but in the armoury I'm afraid we're not that interested in watching you. Feel like a bit of a dick saying that but there you go.Whiteagle wrote:WATCH ME!

[WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS] to begin with, and [WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS].
You may see [ATTEMPTS TO SOLVE WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS], but I won't be [ATTEMPTING TO SOLVE WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS].
Yes, I realized this when I started this a month ago...ikensall wrote:[ATTEMPT TO SOLVE WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS]... nevermind.
Problem is, [WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS], which really doesn't work when [WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS] and [WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS].
So I went the opposite direction, I tried to homogenize the colors WITHIN the different units, to imply that the Tairin Federation Military Hierarchy has a color-coded pattern, something I was already moving towards with the idea of the RED-SHIRTs anyways.
So, Red is the mass fodder, green is the Mobile Infantry, Blue are the Grunt Mecha, and Orange is the Elites at the top.
But this isn't a "Brikwars MOC" board, it's a "Show off your armies and weaponry and stuff," board.ikensall wrote:[ATTEMPT TO SOLVE WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS]

The Tairin Federation is ONE of my armies.
Yes, a lot of the units are Stock right now, because I was trying to build a uniform force rather quickly.
Maybe I'll get around to customizing them more in the future, but as of this moment this is what I got.
I can build MOCs DAMN IT!ikensall wrote:Needless to say you're not very receptive to [ATTEMPTS TO SOLVE WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS]. So we just slide out of "[ATTEMPT TO SOLVE WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS]" mode into "[ATTEMPT TO SOLVE WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS]".

BAM BAM BAM!!!
The problem is [WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS]!
Hell, the reason it took me a week to finish photographing the Tairins and the Bugs was because [WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS].
So yeah, [WHITEAGLE PROBLEMS]!
