I just looked it up on BrickLink and I guess Lyra's torso is pretty rare, only two sets from the early 2000s. Doesn't seem to be in high demand though, dozens of them for sale for fairly cheap.

Did you think about what happened to the troops she commanded during Cales' rebellion or do you prefer to leave that open?

Since they were scouts, I imagine not much. Cales seemed to pretty much dispose of the Hitokiri and some of the royals via portal tampering, and then chase out the king and his Bloodguard/other royals. Even with cities such as Andelmere it was mostly just the high-ups and Bloodguard being backstabbed. Most of the scouts I imagine would be either on the borders (especially with Kerrat) or just plain ignored by Cales since they wouldn't be much of a threat.

I didn't think too hard though, so if you had anything in mind I'd certainly be open to it.

Yeah, it was mostly just the cities being taken over, so not much would've happened to them. In that case, it would make sense for them to still be under her command and the regiment of imperial scouts to be born.

@Scrib: I actually have that torso. It's one of the oldest I've got, from some of my very first figs. I for one think the hat is beautiful and should be issued to all of Cales' troops!

I was looking for something more 'ugly and floppy,' but that was the only one I had that came close. I'm actually picturing him as being from a (former) unit of pistol-equipped mages who act as scouts and sabateurs. They would use illusions to muck with enemy troops, sowing confusion in the ranks while they sneak around and damage supplies/siege equipment/etc. I also suspect they got mostly wiped out during the Bull invasion.

Not familiar with that one. Honestly, I picked the hat because I liked the look. Cales hating it could just be because he and Tatterdemalion don't get along, and burning Tatter's hat would amuse the hell out of the Emperor.

Well, you don't need to make a detailed account of their entire lives, but I do appreciate knowing the basics of where they came from and what they did. How they experienced the Bull invasion and subsequent failed Empire rebellion, and the part they played (and are playing) in the current rebellion are the most interesting to me.

Edron Heartfell

Edron was the son of a blacksmith in a small village on the outskirts of the empire. He worked under his tutelage mostly serving to Imperial Convoys between campaigns. Edron's village was attack by a band of warriors bearing symbols of bigs and bulls. They ransacked his home town, burning it to the ground, killing many, and imprisoning a few. He hid in the forge of his father's smithery where we was discovered by a group of the barbarians led by a tall one with a red beard. He somehow escaped their clutches and made his way to a larger city where he enlisted in the military. When the Flax invaded, his regiment was thrusted into the thick of battle. He survived the battle where the flax portal was destroyed and earned veteran status from it. After things calmed a bit, he sought training under many powerful and skilled warriors in the Empire, attempting to hone his skills as an all around combatant. He became particularly proficient with a bastard sword and cross-bow combination. He seeks to find the barbarians who destroyed his home and exact revenge, particularly on the red-bearded barbarian who he believes led the attack that destroyed everything he loved.

What’s the lore with the empire in relation to magik / where their magik users come from?

They have their own school of magic called the 'Imperial Magisterium'.

It is separate from the Magus Guild (the kingdom's 'official' school of magic), and fell into decline after the empire's lands were given to the Bulls. But now it's been re-established.
