I was fortunate enough to get a good few katanas cheaply so I didn't mind cutting them. I did try them full length and uncut, but that was just a wee bit too strange looking. My other guys armed with rifles have ordinary Lego knives for bayonets, but I wanted to give the Chinese guys a different look.
The peach hands are on my 'to-do' list and will be changed soon.

yes! the bayonets are, IMO, amazing, and perfect for that army. I actually quite like the minigun from the top down angle as well, it looks pretty cool. nice work, lets get this forum battle underway!

The easiest way to get the topic back on your awesome creations is to post more pictures of them.

Well here goes......

Itchy Dave and the lads are reasonably enterprising in their business endevours and are trialing having a steam walker available for hire in the Lost Valley.

Like others of my steam walkers there is a lack of visible plumbing which I hope will be rectified when my next Bricklink order arrives.

Dave and the lads. Who is clever enough to pick out which one is Itchy Dave?

Actually that's son of Itchy Dave who got dropped on his head when he was small. Itchy Dave is the guy with the sleeveless green jerkin. The guy in the middle is Chinese Jim who is Itchy Dave's brother in law.
Congrats to all our contest winners and your prize is the warm glow of satisfaction you have from knowing you were right

Itchy Dave got invented because I wanted a mechanic looking guy in a photo I was taking of 'Dinosaur Hunter'. I rumaged about in my bag of minifig spares and the first set of bits I took out of the bag became Itchy Dave. Not long after that the scrapyard idea popped into my head and after that it just grew.... :D

I think I'm beginning to get the hang of building Steampunk walkers from dead Bionicles. I needed the weapons I was making for my French guys to give to my Britannic Majesty's Imperial Royal Marines because I didn't want them to have raygun type weapons for the Forum Battle which is wot I'd equipt them with to start with. My French guys drove a hard bargain because I ended up having to build a walker for them instead.

Two man crew, - driver and engineer; Armament, Twin miniguns.

The flywheel isn't really an official Lego part, it's a sprue for Castle set accessory bits (I think), but it does the job nicely.

yeah, the flywheel does look pretty neat. Those miniguns look a tad bit small though.... the french are not gonna be happy when they see everyone else's :D

Fortunately it's a simple job to change over weapons on this walker unlike some of my other walkers where they're sort of built in and require a certain amount of reconstruction to rearm. I'm running out of gun building parts (yet again!) and will need to order some more so for the moment miniguns for everyone will have to do.
