Re: Idea's for new lego accessories
I'll be honest with you man, most things you mentioned have already been designed and marketed either by Lego itself or other unofficial brands.
Stuff like spells can be done with most trans-neon bricks and having something molded after that in just one piece would probably look rather cheap, making the Lego system rather pointless.
Not trying to burst your bubble here, but unless you come up with a more original and unexplored idea I don't see much innovation.

Re: Idea's for new lego accessories
And that is true. Except for my shoes, which could become greaves, cowboy boots, mech legs and any number of other cool things. most of those are made by other companies, however many of them are not readily available. Lego makes coins and some treasure, but they aren't cheap to buy because of the scarcity of them. The spells could be made simply with lego parts. But instead of just a simple representation of a spell, you could have a holdable item that was obviously an ice blast, even with tiny snowflakes raised and imprinted on the surface! Instead of the simple flame offered by lego, a ring of towering flame that attaches to your minifigures feet, a fire ball trailing streams of embers!! The other item are spellbooks. I have found no spell books or books of any kind that can be held. The books lego offers are to big to be held in the hand, and have no way of attaching to any lego surface. Imagine a tome, weathered and marked with symbols, that could be a representation of your lego wizards skill (or BrikThulhumanati's devotion) that could actually be held and carried!Or a chain, 3 to 4 times the size of a regular lego chain, used to hold ogres and dragons in their place! Or even just a small holdable pair of dice, perhaps even your brickwars character could be playing his own game of brikwars!! It would promote a realism that pulled you further into the world of Brikwars!

I've got to say, you have all the criteria to be a writer for Lego's monthly catalogue! I have to say some of your thoughts are vaguely promising! However, you have to think about what people would want to have! This means things that aren't already made by Lego in most cases! But also it means stuff that can't easily be made by all the standard components we already have around! This means doing little details that you can't get using raw components, or doing something... different!
Sorry about the exclamation marks, I couldn't help myself, in all honesty if you keep plugging on then eventually you might hit on something, so long as you look at it from an objective angle. All the while you were spamming those "look at my stuff" threads you did end up making an apparently feasible pair of fig-boots, so there appears to be some mechanism for progress somewhere.

And that is my intention. To make things that are either unreasonable to expect from a lego, or more detailed and unique. I have many more idea's. Just trying to get a feel right now. Lol Spamming was not my intention. I have been reading these forums for almost a year now. I just hadn't got around to posting. I thought it would be a good place to try and get support for my ideas. But I see now I may have done so in a abrupt manner that appears to be spam.

You just have to fight the current writers firstikensall wrote:I've got to say, you have all the criteria to be a writer for Lego's monthly catalogue!

As long as you realize that, good. Every time I see one of your threads I think "oh, here's that guy who keeps trying to sell me things." It'd probably be better to post other stuff first and let people get to know you before trying to make money off of us.trapt888 wrote: Lol Spamming was not my intention. Re: Idea's for new lego accessories
Yeah this has been my angle too. Last year I was working at a place where they were having me find Internet forums and spam threads about VoIP phone systems with links back to our shitty website so that it would show up higher on search engines. It was really just a clickbait machine, and part of my job entailed posting spam just to get links (I found another job soon after for other unethical and questionably legal shit they were pulling). I've been checking for the telltale marks of that strategy.ikensall wrote:I couldn't help myself, in all honesty if you keep plugging on then eventually you might hit on something, so long as you look at it from an objective angle. So far, I haven't seen them and it seems like Trapt is actually trying to make a cool product that people will like, and if it's about LEGO I can respect that.
Yes, it does seem that a lot of his ideas are pretty generic, and indeed one of the hardest parts of coming up with cool minifig accessories is making sure that they actually look cooler than building the same prop out of LEGO pieces. Guns, for example, are on that weird teetering point since I think that some of the ones I build out of just rods and cones and tubes and shit are WAY cooler than a Brickarms gun, but at the same time a little molded AK-47 is great.
Take a look at the Brickarms little monopod piece though. That thing has all kinds of crazy uses, and something like that might be more in-line with what you want. Instead of a chain lightning effect, what about lightning pieces and a way to link them (and koincidentally other brick elements of similar sizes) together? Lots of companies make the pieces you're making, but what about pieces that lead to other pieces? The shoes you made are a good example, since they open up a new branch of leg-bits that have a variety of uses thanks to the stud-hole on the bottom.

What about a tripod with a clip on the bottom to clip onto guns? As far as I can tell there aren't really many around.

pretty sure brickarms have one out now, or you could brick build one.M220 wrote:What about a tripod with a clip on the bottom to clip onto guns? As far as I can tell there aren't really many around.
Only problem with silver bullets is the price of silver.
Re: Idea's for new lego accessories
Or you could just get a bi-pod and clip a mono-pod onto it. Shouldn't be that hard

You are correct Brickarms does have Monopod, Bipods, and Tripods.loafofcheese wrote:pretty sure brickarms have one out now, or you could brick build one.M220 wrote:What about a tripod with a clip on the bottom to clip onto guns? As far as I can tell there aren't really many around.

On a side note, I really like the BA Monopod much better than the Lego Variety shown below.
