Microscale Space Fleet

After seeing Halo3000's microscale fleet building in the thread Legofleet Gothic I felt an overpowering need to make a fleet of a similar nature. It took a while to get started, as I wasn't very familiar with microscale and was stuck doing it on LDD as I didn't have the pieces, but it came together after I figured out the first ship, the cruisers:

Started out with the hammerhead style bridge, and that kind of became the guiding central theme of my ships. The escort ships followed pretty easily after that:

Reduce the armament a bit and take a way an engine with each progressively smaller class. Also really tried to channel a shark in the smallest corvettes as best I could in the size... And that gave me an idea of what I should do for the capitol ship:

The Hammer of War, flag ship of the fleet. The anterior turrets came from the design Halo3000 used on his Battlebarge. Just using more antenna turrets in their place started to seem underwhelming for a ship of such magnitude compared to the rest of the fleet.

Forgot to add the group shot of the fleet!

Hell yea man! Looks great! Love the hammerhead aesthetic to your fleet.

If I may give some constructive criticism, I would advise against the overuse of lever turrets. This is something that I struggle with myself as turrets are extremely hard to build at a micro-space level, especially when building turrets for cruisers (I haven't found a good middle ground scale for cruiser scaled turrets). Something I do that a lot of people are not comfortable with(especially on the forums) is cutting legos. I like to shorten my barrels on the lever turrets so they don't look so long. I like to leave some longer, but I tend to cut the ball part off.

Constructive criticism aside I will once again reiterate that I think these look awesome! I really like the uniformity of your flight stands too. Keep building new designs of ships until your brain cannot continue to conjure up new ideas.

Thanks for the comments! I definitely agree about the lever turrets, they're easy to fall back on a bit too hard. I'm on the fence about cutting pieces, I do like trying to stick to unmodified as much as possible (though I've modified some pieces before). I'll definitely see about what I can come up with as far as alternatives but it's certainly hard to come up with something that does the job as readily and easily as the lever pieces do haha
