Medieval Army Building?

So I've been playing brikwars for a little while now, and I am interested in making a medieval army using the newer dragon knights. I've been playing with space/star wars armies, but i want to make a medieval army, because i like the idea of having knights and wizards and filth- covered peasants brutally murdering each other to death with chickens. However, I am not a great LEGO buyer, and I am not sure what sets or figure to buy starting out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you aim for traditional-ish castle, go for bricklink (no current theme on store shelves apart from nexo knights, which while cool, might not be what you have in mind) and expect to pay a lot - castle stuff in general commands a steep price, whether it's complete figures, figure components or equipment. Don't even get me started on horses and saddles. At least pitchforks don't cost an arm and leg nowadays. Keep an eye out for local boot sales if they are a thing in your area, you might end up with stumbling upon a bargain. If you don't mind 3rd party components, you can deck out your troops with brickwarriors armor and weaponry.

Good luck man! Hopefully they come out with a new medieval theme soon, but that may not be for awhile because of Nexo Knighs

Heya, here's few of the newest sets of medieval factions TLG has made. And these should not be too expensive when ordered from bricklink, normal footsoldiers are around 2,5€.

You should propably decide which fellows to collect, and then place some orders and see where you want to go from there.

one strategy I might suggest that can help to reduce costs: you can just purchase a whole bunch of very cheap lego minifigs off bricklink: Just try to find some that you can buy for like $1 each, preferably with a base-color you enjoy, and one that there are a lot of, around 25 should be more than enough to suit any Brikwars-related needs.

If they have printing on the torso you don't want, you can remove that easilly with a very fine grit sand paper.

Then, you customize them the way you want them to be. Depending on your needs, you can either buy them armor that would cover over the blank torsos, or you can print custom details from a website like classic-castle.com if you wanted a non-armored combatant of some kind.

There are some tutorials available here:

IIRC Brasso can get rid of printed details as well. You can avoid surface scratches in that case too. Or y'know, put armor over them, nobody will tell the difference. A lot of my death knights have policemen torsos underneath per say.

Ebay is also a good place to get minifigs fairly cheap if you can find the right deal.
