Franko-German Empire New Vehicles

Post by Steel_Valkyrie » Mon Apr 18, 2016 9:09 pm

The Franko-German Empire has some new Armoured vehicles!
The A-380-FM Archangel
Conceived as an SPG, it has been found that, with the addition of some appliqué armour, it also carries out the role of MBT quite well. It carries a whopping 380mm naval gun.

Crew of Four

Carries 6 HE shells, 3 APHE, 2 HEAT, and one APFSDS. (Sorry for the blurry pic)

The L-85A-D Fennec
A light tank with a max speed of 52mph, it carries out it's scouting role rather well. It can also defend itself with it's 85mm gun and coaxial machine gun.

The LVT-23HV-APH
Essentially an amphibious APC, it was mislabeled as an LVT, which stuck. It has a high-velocity 23mm gun for anti-aircraft and anti-personnel roles, as well as mountings for machine guns. They are often used by the Franko-German Foreign Legion.

Finally, some well designed and built armour!
The LVT-23HV could be converted into a Doom Turtle :D

The Original plan was a turreted medium tank, but I started running out of pieces and inspiration, so I converted it to the LVT for the moment. it might become something along those lines eventually. A multi-turreted death machine. Or I could make a Tank destroyer, an unholy Child of a T92 and a Nashorn. I like the sound of that.

Very well done. However i have one very simple request. Pleas resize the damn pictures its very hard to appreciate something when you can only see part of it.

Man, I really like the turrets stacked upon a bigger turret.

Whoah these things are great, the turretsontheturret approach is original and I think the chunkyness and the details work quite well together.

The only criticism that springs to mind would be to add some blocks of colour somewhere. There's so many grey lego tanks around* that you can only make a grey tank so interesting before it becomes "just another grey lego tank". I know the whole drab monotone thing is supposed to be realistic, and that's fine if that's what you're after, but IMO a real tanker can appreciate the value some great big no shits given racing stripes on their death machine. Maybe if you're feeling really funky you can paint your whole tank yellow.

*Google "lego tank" and try to find a colour more vibrant than tan, arg.

I do like the Wedding-cake style turrets. I was thinking M3 lee and T-28 crossed with a M109.

These armored vehicles are outstanding. I like the Studdless design and shapes. It would be great to see all the vehicles side by side. I would be even greater to build multiples of these.
