[BB20] The "Benevolent" Class Siege Ship

Outside the city walls of Legotovia, endless unexpected swarms of Backtron troops have been fighting the troops of Legotovia. After what they believe to be the final wave, a troop runs to the captain of the army to report urgent news...


Troop: Sir! There's something on our radars, and it's coming in fast!
Captain: We've been fighting them for ages and they haven't made a dent, so it can't be that bad.
Troop: Here it comes sir. Good luck on your ventures, but it's time for me to support the defense.




And with that the troop runs to his impending doom. A ship appears from the sky, and the troops bullets deal no damage to its armour.

Captain: Oh fuck




The Benevolent Class Siege Ship




The Benevolent is a ship used for support and troop transport by Blacktron in a siege against an enemy. It's lightly decked out with guns, but its sheer size makes it a force to be reckoned with in a fight. The inside of the ship provides a safe place for troops to be held in until it's close enough to the enemy's base, and at that point, it's troops are released on the enemy's porch.



The front section of the Benevolent is dedicated for troop transportation. One side has a small hangar bay, big enough to carry a speeder, or for troops to use as an exit.



The center portion of the ship is used for a captains quarters, or in this example, a lego building area. This area is also sometimes used as a storage section depending on the situation it is being used for.
This area is also where the 2 turrets are connected to.



The back of the ship is where it has its 3 engines, with the main one in the centre above the 2 cockpits. At the back, there is also a door used for an alternate exit, which is really only used once it has landed.



Once open, it can release a choice of troops, small vehicles, speeders, or more troops. Currently it is outfitted with a small scout car, usually used to check the rest of the enemy's base faster than the troops could.



Oh, and what's that? Is that Ninja_Bait disguised as C500 troop assessing the ships quality? Too bad he doesn't realize that C500 isn't in Anno yet.




This build wasn't originally intended to be for the Blarney Build 2020, but with moral support from Spectral, I managed to get it done in time. Also, this was meant to be a SHIP, but after the realization that I don't have enough pieces for it to be 100 studs long, I was fine with it being 21".

I second this, even though its just a troop transport no reason it shouldn't be bristling with weapon systems. Those engines look like they can take the extra punishment. This is shaping up to be a rekonstruktion painted black and yellow and I'm fine with this.

Style [ 10 ]
A monstrous brick of a ship that looks like the barrel and chamber of a gun, with separate chambers for its various needs and purposes. Big fat engines, which are always cool and a cargo door in the back that shits out a smaller vehicle which reminds me of Thunderbirds a little. Fun addition with that infiltrating spy nerd as well.

Substance [ 10 ]
For what is basically just a big fat space ship, you really seem to have thought of everything necessary for it. Great use of the minifig stand plates, the S/5 on the side is a nice addition (once again, very Thunderbirds-esque) as well as the engines and side turrets.

Photography [ 9 ]
The only thing I'm missing is a breakdown shot, but you have plenty of photos from all sides including a nice upper shot of the center portion and its insides.

Boast [ 1 ]
I'll count the last bit about the build as a boast but it lacks confidence, no recipe either so Ninja_Bait really has nothing to find on that ship of yours.

This ship definitely feels like it is a Blacktron ship. The Yellow and the Black really meld together.

I love the use of every brik you put into it, but I feel like it is just one long block. I know that is a very difficult block. But there are still many different POIs in it. Like the front grille piece. That is super cool

Besides Food_Truk's first build, you are the only one that has some semblance of a boast. Good job...

Style: 8 - A solid, clean ship, especially considering the short time i was built in.

Substance: 8 - NPU, especially the slightly tilted roof gives it depth and structure.

Photography: 8 - clear scenes, and better lighting as with the Blue Gunner. Yet sometimes a bit shadowy.

Boast: 8 - Blacktron´s back alright!
