Immortal Punisher Dropship [BB21]

Post by Silent-sigfig » Tue Apr 06, 2021 10:42 am

A common sight in the skies above Imperial operations, the Punisher is the primary troop transport of the faceless legions that form the bulk of the Immortal Empire's strength.

The model shown below is in the livery of the Omega Legion.

Image

"You know, 'Punisher' is a bit of a mistranslation. In their language, the Immortals call it 'Punishment'."

"Punishment? Regarding what?"

"The pilots. For them, war is an act for men. Transporting warriors is for donkeys."

Image

A head-on shot, showing the relatively slim profile, sensor array, and pilot's sarcophagus. Note the thrusters can angle themselves.

Image

It's a heavy vehicle--the area above the cargo bay is mostly brackets and plates. It's sturdy too, having survived a drop test.

Image

Though gunship variants exist, a standard Punisher has only a forward-facing particle cannon to defend itself.

The thrusters are on arms that swivel during flight.

Image

It can comfortably carry a squad and their equipment.

(The grey 1x1 is because I only had 3 in white :/)

Image

The punishment for a legionary who dishonors themselves is...severe.

The door mechanism. I'm proud of it and wanted to share

So, does the pilot become the dropship? Like a 40K Dreadnought?

I assume the jar can be removed if the pilot does something valorous, but probably yeah.

Style - 10
Beautiful dropship and it fits aesthetically with all the other Immortal builds. Awesome use of white windscreens as not windscreens.

Substance - 10
Great play features, especially in the hinge mechanism and the engine mobility

Photography - 9.5
Great photos and angles that show off the build. Iron your sheet next time 8)

Boast, Tie-Breaker Category - 8.5
I feel like the boast here just speaks for itself with another amazing Immortal build.

Overall Score - 29.5 + 8.5 tiebreaker
I want to make one

Great color-blocking and shape. Only complaint is the vehicle looks a little small to me, but at the same time, how compact the build is lends it a bit of mystique.

Substance - 10
Immediately obvious what the purpose of this vehicle is. Smooth functioning of thrusters and deployment mechanisms really seal the deal.

Photography - 9
Overall, good photography. Could stand to be brightened up a bit.

Boast, Tie-Breaker Category - 8.5
The disembodied head at the end is a nice surprise. Great build.

Overall Score - 28 + 8.5 tiebreaker
I also want to make one (or five).
