Time to show off my stuff!



Oh crap, looks like some skeletons are terrorizing and slaughtering the local population!


Ah! The military is here to stop this carnage!


The day is saved!

And with that little introduction, may I present:

The Knights of the Black Dragon

(Black Knights for short.)
They are the largest empire on a small planet drifting on the fringes of the galaxy. Having had no outside contact, the inhabitants are blissfully unaware of the mayhem and general confusion that surrounds them. The Black Knights were ruled by the Black Monarch, but with his untimely death at the hands of the Undead, his young son, the White Prince, has ascended to the throne. The White King finished what his father started, and drove the Undead to near extinction. With peace having been re-established, he set about ruling his vast kingdom.





The Black Knights are famous for their heavy cavalry, which they use to devastating effect.
The White King is the one in all black armor.


Knights are experts at slaughtering their foes.


Halberdiers are elite heavy infantry, decimating most foes with a single slash of their large halberds.


Swordsmen make up the bread and butter of the Black Knights, but are not to be taken lightly.


Of course, no army would be complete without spearmen.


Archers and crossbowmen make up the ranged infantry in the Black Knight army.


The Queen and Princess.

The Undead

Updated Jan, 2022.


Overview of the entire army.


Melee infantry.


Heavies.


A single horseman.


Crossbowmen.


Two different types of Grim Reapers.


Elite Undead. The black skeletons can resurrect themselves, no necromancer needed.


Necromancers.


The ruler of the dead, the Dark Lord Malum and his horse. To his right is the wraith of the deceased Black Monarch, once one of his greatest enemies.

I'm sure you get the jist by now, evil sorcerer/necromancer controls some skeletons, nothing new there.


The whole line-up.


Regular infantry make up the bulk of the Undead's shambling ranks.


Ranged and heavies.


A single horseman and the Brothers Grimm.


Now here we get into some more specialized units. On the left is a spectral wraith, wielding a cursed hammer. Center is a possessed knight, once a protector of all that is good and righteous, now corrupted beyond redemption. Far right is a angel of death, infamous for their ear-splitting screech as they descend on their foes.


The Undead are also known to enslave great beasts for their cause.


Undead are commanded by necromancers, two of which are shown here.

The classic knights and undead are always fun themes, the guy on the horse feels like a 'Shadow King' type who leads spectres and wraiths into battle.

Easterlings

The Easterlings are one of the many factions that have sworn allegiance to the Dark Lord. They are infamous for their use of War Oliphants in battle, using the beasts to crush their foes.


Overwatch of current forces.


Swordsmen and a staff-wielder on the left, regular infantry in the center, and heavies on the right. The regular infantry wield small knives and spears in combat, while the heavy infantry sport more armor and halberds.


An Oliphant driver, three ranged troops, and a swordsman all atop an Oliphant.


Their champion, Huang Lu, is a master swordsman and will use his hat as a weapon, if needed.

Elves of the Emerald Forest

The Elves, a mysterious, immortal race of beings that reside deep in the Emerald Forest. Recently the Elves made an alliance with the Black Knights, each promising to help the other in times of need.


Overview of current forces.


The Rangers are experts in guerilla warfare and hit-and-run tactics. They also provide excellent support to the main Elven army.


Glaivemen are frontline warriors and the Elven equivalent to other kingdom's spearmen and halberdiers.


The Windblades are an elite all-female group trained as assassins and spies. They are highly proficient at duel-wielding knives.


A high-ranking commander in the Elven Army, Lord Marshall Galaerin Yelseth is an excellent tactician and strategist. Opposed to most generals and commanders, he prefers to fight right alongside his soldiers rather than bark orders from behind. Unlike the rest of the Elven army, he still wears his armor left over from the Ork Wars, preferring it over the more muted colors of dark green, brown, and dark brown.


Centaurs are commonly found in the Emerald Forest, and they have aligned themselves with the Elves. They frequently provide a quick and mobile strike force to complement the Elves in battle.

A nice collection of elves. The only thing I don't like is the rangers' heads. LEGO kinda overdid some of the elf heads, specifically the mighty cheek lines on all of them.

The centaur leader's weapon and overall body is really Usually it turns out cheaper than moulded parts, as well.

Where are the centaur, ranger and Windblades torsos from? I assume Windblades are Tauriel but I'm not familiar with the others.

Thanks! That's actually kinda funny, because I wanted all of my male Elves to have cheek lines, to set them apart. Sure, I could have not used the same exact head three times, so there is that.

Correct! The Windblades are modified Tauriels, the Centauresses are just the normal Centauress from CMF Series 22, and the rangers are modified Rogues from CMF Series 16.

A small update for the Elven forces.


The feared Elvish Windlance. One of the few weapons of war designed by the Elves of the Emerald Forest, the Windlance is an extremely deadly one. With it's ability to launch razor-sharp arrows with great force at high speeds, the Windlance has proven itself over and over again.


It is mostly used to take out bigger creatures, such as Trolls or Oliphants. It was even used to kill great Northern Dragons, back during the Ork Wars.






The arrows used by the Windlance are twice the height of a Elf, and are constructed of iron with a forged steel tip.

Looks badass. I especially like the little feathers in the back. Are there supposed to be imaginary strings here? Those are always the toughest part of building such weapons in LEGO.

Thanks! Yes, there are supposed to be strings going from each tip to the round 1 x 1 plates on either side. Indeed, so you'll just have to use your imagination.

Awesome set of armies! And i am in love with the giant crossbow!
