(Xtreme Environmental Camping)
From time to time one needs some vacation from their daily, boring office job. Some return after weeks refreshed and motivated to their desk. Others however skip the return..

The members of the XEC-Foundation are united in their collective effort to make every research trip or expedition a memorable experience.
Some of them do their basic research in extreme environments. Others seek out new and unknown biomes to study flora and fauna from their quick established mobile bases – advanced camping grounds – with all the convenience that modern outdoor- and trekking-technology has to offer.

The more practical minded engineers in their ranks build upgraded versions of everyday sports equipment.. Anti-Gravity-surfboards, rocket kites, High-Velocity-Monowheels and -hoverboards.

What helps to keep something in memory? Souvenirs! So the XEC has established a number of categories for different value when it comes to collecting items. This all includes worthless gewgaw, brik-a-braks, trinkets, ressources and treasures of unimaginable worth.
But keep in mind: Every object, creature (or even person) of interest might be considered a souvenir.

As one can see this is sometimes a dangerous or even lifethreatening task.
Either you have cannonfodder as decoys or you have some sort of upgraded, psychopathic janitor to clear your path to adventure.
Groundskeeepers

Grim guardians of the campground. Emotionless and without any facial expressions to be seen behind their golden visor, they enforce the rules of the numerous camp sites and protect their inhabitants.
XEC-Staff
Journee B. Wanderlust

The Scientist in charge of the XEC.
Always ready to wander off into the unknown. Most time equipped with her trusty swiss-army-backpack to build, repair, cut, illuminate, scan and write down. Depending on the threatlevel she also carries a stasis rifle with her to stun potential research objects or souvenirs...
The F.K.T.

Able to improvise everything from scratch and boost it with „More Power“ in the most ridiculous ways, the F.K.T. is the mechanical genius behind most vehicles and contraptions in the XEC's arsenal. Few know what his initials mean and much fewer know his past and origin. He might be an engineer gone mad by watching to much Macgyver and Home Improvement. Or an antropomorphic tesla god wandering the brikverse?
The High Groundskeeper

Head of the Groundskeepers
Following a glimpse at units you might see in the future at beaches, in woods or on top of mountains.
C-Moth, C-Truck (The C is for Camping of course) and PRAWN (Some ideas are fine as they are)

All submarines are able to fly as well due to a thin layer of compressed ocean surrounding them like a shield.
The SHRIMP (Severe Temperatures, High Pressure, Radiation, Incompetence, Microorganisms Protection - Suit)

The SHRIMP-Suit is given to the most dedicated Explorers, risen to the Rank of Extreme Camper. A Sleepover in the Mariana Trench? A BBQ at the crater's edge of an erupting volcano? No Problem!
The HERMIT (Harsh Environment Ressource Massing Independent Transport)

Groundskeeper Pioneer Squad

Quick established mobile base
Currently there are attempts to scan Wreckages and fragments to replicate vehicles and buildings of long lost expeditions.
