Many years ago there was a lighthouse. It was constructed right on the coast, the cornerstone for a planned network of fortifications, and connected to a strong defensive tower. Fine stone had been found there, you see, making construction quite inexpensive. The place was inhabited, for a time, while other area strongholds were built. One day the workers and guards abandoned it, shouting of madness, ghosts, and blood in the night. There was an investigation, of course, but soon after any discussion of returning was quietly dropped.

Today, the lighthouse has collapsed. The quarry is still and run down. It is a home for bandits.





It has become lost, despite the value of such a position.




It is quite overgrown, you understand, cut off from the world and perfect for those with evil intent.



It's been reinforced, at least a little.



It remains a handsome sight.





The fires are warm, if you're a friend. I've even heard it described as cozy.



And the wildlife have never been happier.

(It isn't finished quite to my liking, yet, but the contest is almost over! Hope you enjoy the build and stay tuned for the 100% complete version next month.)

([Edit 7/28] I changed the first 3 pictures because I got parts in the mail early (who would have thought?) and I could officially finish up the foliage as I had originally planned. There's about 10 more bricks that need to be added for it to be complete but they won't be here until August)

Dienekes, if I didn't know better, I would accuse you of pandering to the judges.

Style: 9 This is a surprisingly big build, well done, lots of focal points. Kind of generic in some ways, but less specific. Lots of interesting MOC ideas in here - love that palisade wall with the beige cones on top to represent the cut ends of the logs.

Substance: 10 This is a huge build and there is a LOT here. Love the tower and the sense of decay, the docks, it tells a nice story and fits in well with other posts both on the Forum and on the Discord. Good core setting with lots of surrounding landscape to give it a sense of place.

Photography: 8 Not the best focus on some pics (some are almost foggy looking - unless that was intentional, it is probably a lighting issue), but there are a lot of them and give you lots of viewpoints from different angles.

Theme: ... you know this is a 10. It fits in with SO MANY OTHER posts you've done over the last year, both on the Forum and the Discord chat, and I can't wait to see what kind of battle you're going to host on this. This could be any of a number of places in Europe, but you've given it a background and made it a focal point for what looks like a new sub-faction. It is just waiting to be used in a battle.

That's nuts. Sublime build.

If you try to navigate your little boat underneath that bridge, you're gonna have a bad time!

This entire build is absolutely stunning

Style: a solid 10, it's large, lush, and oozes personality

Substance: again a solid 10. The small little details like those rock formations are brilliantly done and add yet another layer to the builds overall awesomeness. The bonus that it immediately is transitioning into a battle is icing on the cake.

Photography: 8. I do realize that not everybody is a photographer and sometimes even flubbed pics turn out to be exactly what you didn't know you were going for, and exactly what the observer didn't expect to see.

Theme: 10 with no hints of doubt at all. Simply put this is a badass build. Well done.

Style: 10
Damn, now this is a battlefield I would love to fight on. Excellent expression of medieval construction in a lush wilderness. The foliage looks cohesive and well integrated with the building.
Substance: 10
Amazing detail all around. I love the vines growing on the wall, the interesting angle of the building, the brick detailing on the walls, the rocks in the water, I could go on...

Okay there's some clutter in the background, but the build is huge anyway so it makes sense. Some pictures also appear a bit fuzzy. Overall very good though. Lots of angles.
Theme: 6
I don't know if there are any direct references to recent events in here, but I can see that this matches the setting of many of your other battles and would fit well with your Medivo factions.
