Once every seven years, the finest warriors of the Python Isles make their way to the Bull King's court. There, they feast and celebrate for seven nights before entering the labyrinth under his palace - a dark, abyssal path carved by forgotten hands and already abandoned when the first Bull King arrived. It is said that the labyrinth is watched by the Trickster above and Mother Night below, testing both mind and body, wit and spirit. Those who survive return to their lands as heroes, champions, and protectors, standing against savage men and the worse creatures that emerge from the empty lands between city-states.
As the lead champion of Hebros, said to be the city most beloved by the Sky Father, Kyrenia is referred to as his daughter; a mortal embodiment of his power and a paragon of steadfastness, strength of will, and prowess.
Adelwyn the Dark Ranger
The peasants of Aslantaine say that Adelwyn's father was half elf and his grandmother was a frost giant, which is where he got his enormous ivorywood bow and how he's strong enough to draw it. The homesteaders of Drakewood say that he shot down a dragon and bathed in its blood, giving him the ability to speak with wolves, squirrels, and trees. The pirates of the Crashing Coast say that he hunts whales with his bow and can fire a warning shot into a ship's figurehead before the crew can see the shore.
None of that is actually true. But the merchants of the Azure Guild say that he can track down anyone or anything, as long as you have enough time and gold - that one is true, and really, it should be just as scary.
