Goblins and their sneakful raidiness have been known to the factions of the Barley Kingdoms for many years. But since they never sided with any of the Dark Lords, the knights of Aslantaine generally viewed them as a mere nuisance. This began to change, however, during the war with the most recent Dark Lord, almost fourteen years ago. Adventurers introduced goblin beer and spirits to a broader audience - and it turned out that both were really good.
Some nobles and merchants have profited off finding ways to keep goblin liquor coming to medieval market villages. But others must constantly work to shore up defenses at their crops, breweries, and vineyards, lest the clever goblins steal secret ingredients - or just undermine their brewchiefs' competition in a more direct way. The goblins, of course, are not about to take that lying down . . .

Raiders on foot, led by a raid boss (center, with leather helmet and metal armor) and accompanied by a grenadier (right). Grenadier weapons vary widely between raiding parties, ranging from explosive solutions to sleep gas to stuff that just smells really, really bad. Opinions vary on whether these solutions are made for purpose by brewchiefs, are a byproduct of the liquor industry, or are in fact an alternate use for goblin liquor itself.
