A basement is a horrible place to be when the zombies attack.

It's not like every apocalypse has zombies.

I was thinking more of the Prophecy/Dogma apocolypse, but a basement with full concrete walls would be reasonably safe from zombies. Better than a bar, apartment complex, or underground zombie-infection laboratory.

Warhead, you've reminded me to stock the zombie-proof basement with liquor and not just fruit juice.

Underground is the worst place to be when zombies attack. There's no way out from underground except the way you went down. If you go upstairs instead, you can always jump.

Yea, but say you're in your house, even with a dumb-waiter, on the first floor. The house has a basement and it also has a second floor.

You're holed up on the first floor, but the zombies break in one way or another.

If you go to the basement, the zombies will have an easier time getting to you (they can fall down stairs easier than stumbling up them), it's a basic combat rule that being on higher ground is an advantage, and also there's no way to get out of the basement safely. The way down to the basement is not safe because they're in the house, any exits to outside from the basement can not be checked to see if they're safe because you can not look around beforehand for zombies, and relying on a dumb-waiter is not a smart idea for an escape.

from anyone who plays left 4 dead, you should know that the best hiding spot is the second floor bathroom. i combines the fact that its upstair with only one door so one or two people can easily guard it. also, theres usually a stash of pain pills somewhere in there.

i had a dumbwaiter once. he brought wrong soup, so i shot his face with my beaver cannon. da-dum kssssssssh.
also, everyone knows best place to face zombies is a GROCERY OR DEPARTMENT STORE!!!!!!!! sure more protection in br but yu gonna starve and run out bullets eventually.
