So this one time, I built another fleet...

There's no point in having a fleet of starships, if they don't have another fleet of starships to blow up. So I present to you my Star Templar Task Force, and the rag-tag Gardian Fleet:

Star Templar Task Force, based on the USAF Fleet from Stargate, with a fair amount Star Trek thrown in too.

Star Templar engines, which you will never see, because you'll be dead.

Gardian Colony Ship with an awesome rotating hab module. Science rules.

The ARK, the oldest and most deadly ship in the Gardian fleet. Designed specifically for Brikwars, this ship has quadruple-redundant sensor and comm arrays, two independent propulsion systems, three completely sealed decks, 12 anti-personnel missiles, and is crewed with guys in sealed space suits. I only brought this ship to one game. My opponents said it was overkill. I won.

Gardian Command Ship, woefully unarmed. You can probably bet what's going to happen to this ship.
I'm going to post pictures of a fleet engagement sometime. It will blow your mind faster than explosive decompression.

Very awesome! The first 3 ones look like space traveling buildings, a bit blocky but cool, the other ones are pretty Space 1999 to. Good job

Yeah they were fun to make, all had a very different goal when I started out. It's a very different process making a ship specifically for Brikwars. You can make the coolest looking ship, but if it can't stand up to being swooshed around or shot at, it's no good in a pretend battle.

Fleets are always fun if you have the time & pieces to build them. Not much of a big fan of the Star Templar Task Force (oh one of the front doors of the ship is backwards) I think you're better than that, as we've with your other fleet. You should go for a SHIP, it looks like you have the pieces for it. I like the Gardian Colony Ship, do you have any pics of the insides of the modules?

Pretty harsh criticism, but I guess that's how I improve. At least you guys are not as bad as Flickr commentors. These ships were intentionally different in style from my Space Force fleet. The Star Templars in particular were a more utalitarian, old-school blocky construction, sort of a throw-back to the ships I built when I first got into capital starship design. The docks on the front (and yeah, I noticed the reversed door about 5 minutes after I posted the pic) were based on the USS Defiant from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Guess they were not a big hit, but they were something I wanted to build.
Next time I guess I'll be sure copy straight out of the Homeworld design book again and have bright colors and angles and SNOT all over the place, just to make the internet happy

O cheer up bucko.... We're not telling you to build fancy-scmacy all super snoty, greebled up ships all the time (but would be nice). I get that you were going for the utilitarian thing, if you've seen my stuff most of my work is utilitarian. That's why my greebling is so weak. You can still be utilitarian and still have it look good. It's just when you strap an engine to the back of a building it dosen't feel like you were trying.
I like that you have doors on the front, it reminds me of my battlebus, my first drop/boadring ship. Too bad I didn't take profile photo's for it before it was scrapped. But it was in my first brikwars fight, luckly Strana got it on film.

the first big star ship i made was based on the ship from pitch black and measured up to 110 cm and could detach at different points

Well thanks to all of your discouragement, I've almost finished my next ship. SHIP is not the right term for it, since it's only 75 studs long, but it's smooth and has proper coloration and I might even finish the greebling on the equitorial seam during LOST tonight.
