Alien Raiders

Within the past six months, we have received reports of a small force of alien troops conducting raids on various planets of the outer rim, often abducting captives...

No specimens have been captured for study, but preliminary observation suggests their physiology and technology resembles that of the Gludavian Raiders... no satisfactory explanation for this can be found.

The entire group. The aliens' battle uniforms seem to be made of a lightweight but strong metal, giving them superior protection to standard troops without a significant weight penalty. Offensive weaponry appears to be based primarily on highly advanced plasma technology.

Image
The leader, Galactic Overlord Xenu, carries a plasma burst cannon and wears some sort of powerful energy-shield generator to protect himself from attack.

Xenu's two bodyguards. The one on the left carries some sort of bazooka-type weapon which generates and then launches a large bubble of plasma. It is slightly more powerful than Xenu's weapon but has less range and takes much longer to generate the bubble.
The right hand bodyguard carries a plasma weapon similar in function to a flamethrower.

The most feared soldiers in Xenu's employ are the Commandos, experts in multiple different close-range and melee weapons who wear jump packs.
Commandos typically carry a beam saber and a combination light CC weapon/stealth ranged weapon. Despite their unremarkable appearance compared to the glowing heavy weapons used by the other alien troops, these stealth weapons represent some of the most advanced and inexplicable technology the aliens possess. Rather than firing projectiles or energy beams, the pistol simply causes a brick-sized chunk of whatever it hits to disappear, without any noise or flash. Fortunately its range appears to be short.

Image
Many people have noted the similarity between his jump pack and weapons technology and that of the Gludavian Raiders, and theorized that the Raiders are the descendants of a team of alien commandos such as this one who were somehow stranded in this galaxy. However, due to the difficulty of capturing any aliens for study, these theories remain unproven...

Image
Xenu's war band has also been seen to use a wide variety of advanced robotic helpers for various tasks. Blue service droids like the one on the right perform a variety of support roles ranging from sniper to combined medik/mechanik. Red service droids like the one on the left seem to serve only as pilots and spaceship crewmembers. They use a low-performance hover system for locomotion, primarily to save space aboard ships.

The leader is pretty darn impressive, you can safely put him amongst the sig figs Warhead's been creating.

Thanks guys. I wanted these people to be the ultimate "small but powerful" team -- every troop has some sort of enhancement over a standard minifig.

Update: Vehicle!

Image
Small flying saucers such as this one have often been spotted accompanying Xenu's raiding parties, or acting as fighters in space. They have no visible means of propulsion but are capable of performing maneuvers which no conventional aircraft or spacecraft can match. Their main armament consists of twin-linked energy blasters.

Image
In addition they project a gravitic distortion field powerful enough to push projectiles and even energy blasts away from the ship. Expert targeting is required to compensate for the field and hit the saucer itself.

Image
The glowing dish underneath the ship seems to act as a teleportation receiver. Planetary militias defending against an alien raiding party have reported seeing alien troops disappear when cornered and reappear underneath their saucer. Using this teleportation dish a single saucer can deploy an entire squad onto a planet's surface or into an enemy ship.

Excellent force to be reckoned with. Of course if they're 1950's Sci-Fi B-Movie related they'll be suckers for a dame and a male hero with a rock jaw and pipe.

Actually I got the idea for an alien faction from "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" so they're really most vulnerable to Manly Fucking Santa or a couple of plucky 6-year-olds.

I don't know what you've heard but MFS said those six year olds looked 16 and he's sticking to his story.

Also, cool tie in.
