The Vol Huskarl, act as the Kings bodyguard, and are the second-best ground troops in any Vol force, second only to the king himself.
There are only ever two at a time, and to become one a trooper must kill the old Huskarl in single combat.
They are known for their fierce loyalty to the king, and for their elite level of skill with their preferred weapon;
the OT Warstaff, which is a legendary weapon among the Vol, part OTC, part plasma rifle, it can easily deflect
most projectiles, as well as cut through nearly any known substance, and what it lacks in range, it more than
makes up for in sheer power. In recent times, the Kings guard have abandoned the traditional Vol heavy armor
in favor of Assyrian-style mimetic armor, for more speed and maneuverability on the battlefield.
